Boys & Books!!

It’s official… boys are reading and liking my books too! The new website has been getting lots of great feedback from boy readers as well as girls… yay!
OK, it takes an especially cool boy to read a sparkly-type book. The covers are pretty girly, I admit, but the stories really aren’t… and lads are waking up to that! Besides, if boy readers take a few tips from characters like Kian, Finn, Carter & Paul, that’s good news all round!
So… what do boys really think?

DOMINIK SAYS
Although I’m a boy, I still enjoy your books. Scarlett is a very good book – sad, happy, romantic and funny. Also, it won the ‘John Lewis Solihull Children’s Book Award’ which was voted for by children. I voted for Scarlett to win – of course!

RYAN SAYS..
Kids at school have seen me reading your books, and said “Woooo, look who’s reading a girl’s book!” So I’d like to ask if you could write a book based on a boy to show them that your the best kids author ever !!!
my favourite of your books…
1.indigo blue
2.scarlett
3.sundae girl

JOE SAYS
Ok, I’ll admit it. I am a boy. So what? So… I cried. Because of a book. So…WHO CARES?! I LOVE THIS BOOK! The ending was magical, and that was where I cried. This book is brilliant. I loved every bit of it.

MATTY SAYS
I usually read fantasy books but picked up my sister’s Driftwood a while ago and that was it – hooked. The story was so real and I could totally see where Kit was coming from. I’ve read Scarlett and Sundae Girl too, and can’t wait for Lucky Star. Might have to fight my sister for it!

So… are my books just for girls, or should boys read them too? Let me know what YOU think!

  1. My next book, Lucky Star, is written from the viewpoint of a 14 year old boy… I think boys and girls alike are going to love it!

  2. I think that boys should be able to read these books, too, as it’s not particularly directed at either girls or boys, although girls generally do seem to read it more. Besides, it’s better for them than reading all those violent books and stuff…lol

  3. i think that its a cool idea for boys to read to and i think its mean for people to think your books are just for girls anyway i think people are afraid of wat others might think when they want to do something they like but are scared! and boys who do read your books and enjoy have got guts compared to those who are just scared!

  4. Like…. why can’t they read them. Your books are excellent for both boys and girls but if your really worried maybe you should write a book for boys and please don’t stop writing because I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
