Boys & Books!!

It’s official… boys are reading and liking my books too! The new website has been getting lots of great feedback from boy readers as well as girls… yay!
OK, it takes an especially cool boy to read a sparkly-type book. The covers are pretty girly, I admit, but the stories really aren’t… and lads are waking up to that! Besides, if boy readers take a few tips from characters like Kian, Finn, Carter & Paul, that’s good news all round!
So… what do boys really think?

Although I’m a boy, I still enjoy your books. Scarlett is a very good book – sad, happy, romantic and funny. Also, it won the ‘John Lewis Solihull Children’s Book Award’ which was voted for by children. I voted for Scarlett to win – of course!

Kids at school have seen me reading your books, and said “Woooo, look who’s reading a girl’s book!” So I’d like to ask if you could write a book based on a boy to show them that your the best kids author ever !!!

Ok, I’ll admit it. I am a boy. So what? So… I cried. Because of a book. So…WHO CARES?! I LOVE THIS BOOK! The ending was magical, and that was where I cried. This book is brilliant. I loved every bit of it.

I usually read fantasy books but picked up my sister’s Driftwood a while ago and that was it – hooked. The story was so real and I could totally see where Kit was coming from. I’ve read Scarlett and Sundae Girl too, and can’t wait for Lucky Star. Might have to fight my sister for it!

Hey Cathy i must say i totally love your books. although I am new to them i think they rock, once my mum even gave me a telling of because that i was reading your books waaaaaaaaaay into the night!!
we LOVE your books!!! We think its cool that boys are reading CC books! Even though none of the boys in our grade would even touch them we think they would have to agee that they are fabulous book!!!

I have read 2 of Cathys books (Sundae girl and Love, peace and chocolate) and i loved them and i think that boys could read them to becuase it’s unfair if girls can read a book and boys can’t!
I wish my brothers would read books, the only thing they read are magazines. They’re both adults now and not once have I ever seen them read a proper book, they read when they were little but they never finished books and they never read a lot anyway.
I’m a boy and i read your books but i don’t care.I like Indgio Blue the beat cos’ i’m in it. I love skateboarding and i have sandy-colured hair. Really strange. So i wonder if i have a girl who fancys me who’s called Jo and used to have a friend called Indgio.

Personally, when i fisrt saw your book, i thought it would be all fairys and rainbows (scarlett) but now im hooked! I think its great that some guys are getting into them as well.
I agree with Ryan though. I think you should try writting from a boys perspective… or even both in one book. Like switch after one chapter.

Hey im a girl and I think anybody who bullys a person or calls them names just because of the book they read is sad and they are the biggest weirdos on planet earth I personally think boys who read Cathy Cassidy books are absoulute ledgends!
