All the judges have have their say, and I have spent a few days sifting through the longlist and whittling it down – in the photo you can see my cat Pepper ‘helping’! The shortlist will be announced in Mizz mag’s 8th July issue, so don’t miss out. Shortlisted readers will then be informed by mail, too, and I’ll see them for the fabby award ceremony at this year’s EDINBURGH FESTIVAL. Woo hoo!

OMG I am so sad. On Friday it was my last day at my junior school and I really miss it and all my friends. I don’t know how to explain to my mum why I’m sad. I’m keeping in touch with some people, of course, but I’m going to miss the teachers and the routine and the games and grounds we play on.

Hey Cathy!! Just coming to say, your books are some of the many books that truly do inspire me.I am only thirteen but for later life, I hope to become an author, like you. Im in the middle of a book write now, though barely finished, and i hope to god its good enough to be published!! I have a real passion for writing, and thats what i want to do from now till forever.
I have just read lucky star, and i think it ROCKS just like you!! I haven’t got any more of your books at home to read so I’m soooooo bored!! I love writing stories and want to be a writer too but I don’t like to tell anyone. xx
