LIFE IS SWEET!!!

Are you doing something ultra-cool this half-term? Or are you just a teensy bit… well, bored? Chase away the blues and make sure life really is sweet… by baking some cupcakes or cookies, doing something fun with a friend or curling up with your fave CC book!

Whatever you do to brighten up the holidays, share it – so other CC readers out there can get inspired to try something cool, too! Just post your tips for a boredom-free half-term through the comments link below.

Here in Scotland, half-term is over (boo!!!) but my family and I had a fab time – we went to London and… wait for it… saw the Queen! (Yes, the REAL Queen! Really!) She was at a fab play, War Horse, based on the book by Michael Morpurgo… and she caused quite a stir! The play was so brilliant it got a standing ovation, too, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house… aw. We also shopped till we dropped in Camden, Covent Garden and the Kings Road, did lots of touristy stuff and even got to go behind the scenes at the Museum of London… spooky stuff!

So what did you do… or what are you planning? Let me know! And if you DO make some sweet treats, send me a pic… I’ll post the best ones and send a little prize to those that really catch my eye!

Remember… life is sweet!

  4. Hi Cathy!!! You know what I did?!! I went to this cool theme park…at night with my cousins. It looked reeeaaally scary at night. I went on Bumper Cars(I’m FINALLY old enough), I went for this ride.. my cousin,(about,5years old), was too scared to come. But it didn’t look scary..at first..until I went on it! And I’m like, OH no a slope! A steep one too! Your actully in a boat and your riding in water. So, when I went down the 1st slope, I closed my eyes tight. I opened them, and was like, HEY! that wasn’t too bad !!! And for it again! alot of times! Once I got splashed with water too!

  5. This Half Term was sweeet for me! Me and my mum were on an incredibly important mission of baking chocolate cupcakes with buttercream icing, and selling them at our village fete. It was busy and so we managed to make £40 from our delicious cakes! We were so happy, and so decided to give the money to our local RSPCA branch. PLUS there were about ten spare cakes, so I gave one each to my best friends when we went back to school. But I think the bonus of it all was curling up infront of the fire, with a spare cupcake in one hand and ‘Sundae Girl’ in the other. Bliss!

  7. Scarlett made me cry…imagine my dad being so mad at me after he was so nice to me! That’d be terrible, and Dizzy is sad, too. Indigo Blue is so cool and adventurous! Then again, Scarlett is too. Anyway, what I like about your books is near the end, something surprising and dramatic happens!
    Life is SUPER sweet!

  9. Heya, Cathy. Over half term I went on holiday to Scotland, close to where you live! I begged my dad to take me to your house, bit he won’t – not fair! Anyway, it was pretty sweet, even the occasional drizzle, and bought a good copy of Lucky Star to read. I was sad to leave, but I did get to see a woman hiking up the trail to an old lighthouse called Mull of Galloway – who, guess what, looked exactly the same as you… shame it wasn’t the real you! Kate xoxo

  10. Hi Cathy. I love all your books. My favourite one is Driftwood because it is so heart warming and some of the characters are like some people in my family. Georgie xxxx
