Email Avalanche!!!!
Friday 11th May 2007
It’s fab to be getting so much great feedback, but my poor old email account just about burst at the seams… oops! If you emailed between Tuesday afternoon and Friday lunchtime, your email may have been lost forever in the mists of the internet. Can you please re-send anything important? I’ve ironed out the gremlins now and it shouldn’t happen again. Thanks!!!!!

hello cathy i cant beleive i saw you at school your books are so cool and hope you make another new book. I have read every single one of them they have great adventures. And you said that you have a mini bus like that at home thats where you got the idea from you have kids of your own and you live in the country a quit place in a cottage bye from alana u r so so amazing
hi cathy i absolutly luv ur books ive even read some more than once cant wait to read your new amazing books
Dear Cathy,
Did you see that turquoise girl at the South Bank Centre where you were doing your book signing? That’s me!I like to stand out like Paul in your book Driftwood, when I went on the tube everybody stared at me, my mum said it was because I looked like a refugee, but I didn’t mind.
I loved your books, they are bright and colourful and the little pictures on all the chapters are amazing. My favourite book was Dizzy because it’s about hippies and it made me want to be one, I stayed in a Mongolian Yurt once like Dizzy did when they went to the festival, I’d love to live in one. I wouldn’t mind not having a TV as there was the field with sheep and you could fly kites in the wind. My favourite character is Indigo’s mum as her favourite colour is blue and mine is turquoise.
I didn’t read much before as I couldn’t find the right book and I just read diaries. But then I read your books and now I read every night without being told to and I love reading. I’m half way through Ginger Snaps which is at my friend Zoe’s house (she was at the book signing as well). Whenever I go for a sleepover I read 3 chapters. The situations that the characters are in in the books makes me feel like I’m in the book and makes me understand what people are going through. I can’t wait to read Angel Cakes as I would love to see what other people think of London. I think it’s boring and I would rather live in Scotland because it is happy there and people are nice.
I would love you to come to Ravenstone which is my school, but I’d need to ask Miss Dowler.
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Ruby. C (turquoise girl)
P.S. I’m going to use your daydreaming tips in class.

Hi Cathy,

Abby 🙂
I’ve been re-reading the Chocolate Box girls and I’ve noticed some similarities between the characters and previous characters. Honey and Scarlett, Cherry and Indigo, Summer and Jude, for example.
Hmm, I disagree… there might be some similarities, as in sharing certain common personality traits, but I think the characters are pretty distinct from each other. I like that you’re thinking so carefully about the books, though – and I guess we are allowed to have different views! Happy reading! xxx
