A WHOLE NEW YEAR…

I’m writing this on the very last day of 2009… the last day of the DECADE in fact! I hope you all have a fun and fabby New Year and make the most of every opportunity that 2010 brings you… go for it!

2009 was a good year in lost of ways for me… I got to meet my fans in Australia, Singapore & New Zealand in May, I launched the first ever National Best Friends Day in July and wrote like crazy in between times! The year had its sad, tricky and low points too, of course, but I hope that on the whole 2009 was a good year for you, too.

I have a feeling that 2010 is going to be even better. I love that moment when the year turns and a whole new year lies before you, like a field full of snow, silent and perfect, with no footprints upon it yet (I know, I know, but I am writing this surrounded by fields of snow, so it seemed like a good image!). For me, it’ll be a busy year… Angel Cake goes paperback in April; Daizy Star & The Pink Guitar comes out in June; and Cherry Crush is out in September. There will be a few little surprises along the way, too… let’s just say there will be plenty for you to read this year!

What were your best/worst bits of 2009? Are you making any resolutions for 2010? And how are you celebrating the New Year? Let me know by posting your comments through the link below. Happy New Year!!!

  4. 2009 was good. But I’m really excited about 2010 especial JANUARY (as I’m turning 13) I’m reading ginger snaps at the moment. It’s really helping me to be myself and know that that’s the best way to fit in. You are my all time FAVORITE author! Thankyou for all your advise in your letters to cathy book.

  7. Hi Cathy! I love your books! I think 2010 will be great too! My best bits of 2009 was: My birthday, My party; My and my friends went Swimming, and Christmas Day and Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. I don’t really have a worst bit of 2009- but i do have a funny/bad bit, I dont really know if i would call it funny or bad! It was bad at the time but its ok now!Anyway:
I went sledgoing on Christmas Day, and there was this really steep icy track. My dad said to go sledging on that, but i said no and pushed the sledge away. I got onto the Sledge, and he pushed me ONTO the icy track. I want whizzing down the icy hill and when i got towards the bottom, i was going so fast, that i fell off the Sledge and landed on my face in the Icey Snow. Some Ice had cut my nose a bit and i Struggled to get up as i was in pain. I felt it hurt but i hadnt realized that my nose was bleeding until my Mum pointed it out.

  10. 2009 was alright…ish. Lets just hope 2010 is a lot better. Lets just say I HATE high school. Though the end of primary ROCKED. The teacher was awesome, the folks in my class couldn’t of been cooler! What more would you want?
