A WHOLE NEW YEAR…

I’m writing this on the very last day of 2009… the last day of the DECADE in fact! I hope you all have a fun and fabby New Year and make the most of every opportunity that 2010 brings you… go for it!
2009 was a good year in lost of ways for me… I got to meet my fans in Australia, Singapore & New Zealand in May, I launched the first ever National Best Friends Day in July and wrote like crazy in between times! The year had its sad, tricky and low points too, of course, but I hope that on the whole 2009 was a good year for you, too.
I have a feeling that 2010 is going to be even better. I love that moment when the year turns and a whole new year lies before you, like a field full of snow, silent and perfect, with no footprints upon it yet (I know, I know, but I am writing this surrounded by fields of snow, so it seemed like a good image!). For me, it’ll be a busy year… Angel Cake goes paperback in April; Daizy Star & The Pink Guitar comes out in June; and Cherry Crush is out in September. There will be a few little surprises along the way, too… let’s just say there will be plenty for you to read this year!

Hi Cathy! I wish you and everyone out there a happy new year! A lot of great things happened in 2009. I made a lot of new friends, some of them are even my besties now! I also went to really cool places I hadn’t seen before and I also read a lot of awesome books (including your books!) Happy New Year everybody!!! xoxo

I hope 2010 will be good as 2009 wasn’t the best year for me. one o the reasons was that I was trying to decide if I should go to school or stay homeschooled!
also me and my best friend didn’t seem that close in 2009 and that makes me sad cos I’ve known her for ever
but on the bright side I made heaps of good friends of all ages and don’t feel so much like a hermit any more.

While you are surrounded by snow, here in Australia we are boiling, literally! It has come up to 40 degrees here!
For New Years Eve i sat with my Mum,
cousin and Auntie and watched the fireworks, while eating Malteser!! YUM!!
In 2010 i will be in Yr 6 and will be a leader of my school! I am captain of my house!! The PURPLE house!!!

Hi cathy, I just wanted to say happy new year!! Your line about snow was not cheesy…just depressing, because it’s WAY to warm here this year. No snow. So technically by painting an image of the new year, you totally ruined the entire 2010 for me (just kidding!) 2009 was great. This year me and my friends have really gotten closer (best part) but one of them sort of forgot about us (worst part!), so we’re one down, but we’re still a great group and we have a lot of fun. ALSO, we’ve got some fantastic stuff planned for 2010, so next year when you’re talking about beginning 2011, I’ll definitely be saying that the year was great….have a great year!
2009 was the last year of primary school for me. Its hard to say goodbye to all my friends because i’m going to a secondary where i don’t know anyone but i know if i believe, i’ll achieve. PS i love your books!
2009 was an awesome year! My fave part was making tons of new mates!
However, my cat and one of my mates died on the same day this year. But, I know that they are in a better place! Happy New Year everyone!!
I can’t Belive what a wonderful 2009 it has been for me. I hope 2010 will bring more joy and excitement than 2009 did. I am in grade 6 so scary! but my friends are all in the same class for our last year of primary school.

Have Fun with the new 2010
I have a theory…. last year was really cold, wet and rainy on NYE so me and my friend predicted the year ahead would be bad, and we were right, it was probably my worst year ever…we said again this year because it was so hot that 2010 is gonna be the best ever!!!
Happy new year to everyone! I hope you all had a great time last night. For me, I didn’t really do much-just watch Eastenders and delete some old messages, but that’s what new year is all about, right? Getting rid of the old to make way for the new… I’ll have to keep that in mind this year, I think!
the best part of o9 for me was basically having a laugh and being trusted more. i turned thirteen in march and my parents started giving me more freedom to do what i wanted.
the worst part for me was the raining summer (that sucked) and having to be more responsible at school cause we’re second year now (blah, blah, blah)
