Skye and Summer Tanberry are identical twins, and Skye loves her sister Summer more than anyone else in the world. They do everything together, but lately Skye’s been feeling like second-best – it’s the story of her life. And when her friend Alfie confesses he’s fallen not for her, but for Summer, it hurts.
Skye wants to be her own person, but with an effortlessly cool twin, how can she? Will Skye ever step out of Summer’s shadow and find her own chance to shine?
I came back from a friends birthday party to a couple of new books- one was a beautiful hardback edition of Marshmallow Skye… Although it was my bedtime, as I had loved Cherry Crush, my fingers were readying for page-turning, my brain getting ready to translate those symbols into words. I read, and read, until finally I looked at the the clock, the book finished, the mystery solved, the time late, very very late.
But I LOVED Marshmallow Skye, and I really love the way Cathy Cassidy puts at least three plots in the one story. Giving an annoying boy lessons, always in Summer’s shadow, a ghost story with a dream boy…
I loved every second of that book, and have read Summer’s Dream, also as brilliant. Well done Cathy!
I love Marshmallow Skye, I love Skye’s quirky personality and style, and I think Summer can be oblivious to her twin’s feelings. I have already read Summer’s Dream and Cherry Crush, so I can’t wait for Coco Caramel and finally, Sweet Honey.
And to the other people who have commennted about Honey’s book title, you don’t know what is going to happen in the book. Obviously ‘Sweet Honey’ fits the plot of the book. Maybe Honey isn’t so bad…
This book is AMAZING!!!!!
I began reading Marshmallow Skye this morning, and am now about halfway through. I have to say, it’s had quite an impact on me so far. Although I don’t think I can really relate to Skye on much things (except for her love of history and vintage clothing, of course), I find that I just can’t stop reading! — a good thing of course, but not when you’ve got a massive amount of homework to do.
I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to begin reading at first. I’m actually not very into romance stories, and your books have quite the reputation of that. This is the first book of yours that I’ve read, and I definitely do not regret it. Although some of your other books may not be to my taste, I love the way that you added a fresh new twist on the whole romance aspect (not literally fresh, of course, considering that Skye is obsessed with a boy who existed a century ago) (yes, that was a joke. Lame, I know). So…kudos to you!
Well, I think this comment is long enough. I wish you the best and hope that I get the opportunity to read more of your books, as you are a very (very) talented writer.
