Lucky Star

Has Mouse met his match in new girl Cat?

‘Cat and Mouse,’ she says, grinning. ‘That’s cool!’

Mouse is doing his best to stay out of trouble. Cat is doing her best to land herself in it.

They’ve both had it pretty tough, so when they meet by chance, they thank their lucky stars. Weird and wonderful things happen when they’re together – but how long can it last? Because everyone has their secrets – and there can only be one winner in a game of cat and mouse. Can’t there?

  2. Lucky Star is an absolutely brilliant book! I think Cat is very troublsome but she is also very caring. Two of my favourite parts are when Cat and Mouse go on a day trip to London, and when Mouse finds Lucky. The end is very magical and I think it’s great that Mouses mum, Mrs. S, Luke, Julie, Jake and the rest all stand up to Frank Scully. I think Lucky is one of the best characters ever (not forgetting that Cat, Mouse and everyone else are great too!). I have also read Driftwood, Scarlet, Sundae Girl, Dizzy and would like to read Indigo Blue too!

  4. This book was so good!!!! It has an ending you would’ve never expected!!!! I think you should write a secuel. It was really sad but also showed that things can really changed if you just try and stick up for yourself. Its a great book, just like all of them!

  5. Oh my god! When I saw the advert for this book I was like, OMG! ANOTHER CATHY CASSIDY BOOK! I was half way to the bus stop to go to school but I HAD to see if Lucky Star was in the library – I ended up doing this weird dance hop thing between the library and the bus. Then I thought “Ha, I’ll just go to the library” And I ran in and shrieked at the poor librarian asking if Lucky Star was in… It was! I read it in two hours straight and loved every bit of it. I think I’d have a crush on Mouse if he was real – He is real to me!
    Loved it!

  6. Lucky Star is about Mouse, a 14 year-old who lives on the rough Eden estate, in a pokey little flat. Just when he thinks that life is going down the drain, he finds Lucky, a scruffy little dog who grows to be his best friend. Then he falls for Cat, a cute girl from the posh side of town. When the Eden estate turns for the worst, it’s up to Mouse, Cat and Lucky to save not so Eden from peril.
This is one of the best books I have ever read, it’s out-on-the edge, adventurous, and romantic , just what you need when your looking for a good book to snuggle up with! There is tears, sadness, excitment and joy. There are first times and, in some cases, last times. I think Lucky Star is the best book in the world, and it’s suitable for any one with the power to dream……
