Lucky Star

Has Mouse met his match in new girl Cat?

‘Cat and Mouse,’ she says, grinning. ‘That’s cool!’

Mouse is doing his best to stay out of trouble. Cat is doing her best to land herself in it.

They’ve both had it pretty tough, so when they meet by chance, they thank their lucky stars. Weird and wonderful things happen when they’re together – but how long can it last? Because everyone has their secrets – and there can only be one winner in a game of cat and mouse. Can’t there?

  4. Lucky Star… what can I say? All of Cathy Cassidy’s books have touched me but in particular Lucky Star was one of my favourites. It shows a girl like me, who would never cope on the streets of London, how different life can be for different people. Mouse, behind his emo frigne and graffiti is obviously the sweetest guy ever, with a lot more emotion than he probably shows – I think I fell in love with him!!! Cat (Catrin) feels the same way as I do – she’s always the good girl, and for once she’s trying to get in touch with her rebellious nature. Unfortunately this doesn’t work out and she leaves Mouse confused and hurt. When they get together again, I cried, because I had got into the book, and their feelings had become my feelings. This is a one in a million sort of book – it shows how people can be different on the outside but on the inside, their personalities go together like strawberries and ice-cream. I would recommend this book to girls who want to ask that boy out but think they can’t because he’s different to them. I say, go for it!
