‘You can make a wish come true, if you’re determined . . .’
Gone are the days when Ginger was an outsider, always on the fringes of friendship. She’s swapped puppy fat and pigtails for make-up and hair straighteners and never looked back – until now. Ginger and Shannon are best mates, but when they befriend lonely Emily, everything changes. Even the saxophone-playing boy in the trilby hat can’t help – he’s part of the problem. Are Ginger and Shannon drifting apart or can they stay best friends forever?
I bought the book from Tesco on a Saturday morning. My mother could barely get me to put it down for lunch! I absolutely adored Sam Taylor, he was a real character! I think that every girl that read that book probably would have loved to be Ginger! If I was her then, when Sam was looking fro a seat in English, I would ask him to sit with me. Also, when he kissed her on the narrowboat, I would have let him kiss me again. Also, on the minibus, I would have sood up for him, and also at Shannon’s party. But, if the book had been like that it would not have been as hard to put down, as you would not have been as full of supspense. I say, three cheers to Cathy Cassidy fro yet another brillinat book! Hip hip…Hooray! Hip hip…. Hooray! Hip Hip…..Hooray! And one for luck! Hip Hip ….Hooray! And one fro the ol man’s coconut! HIp hip….hooray!
Hi Cathy. I loved Gingersnaps! Im so glad i discovered your’e books thanks to my local librarys book group the first book i read was Scarlett for 2007 Braw awards & i fell in love with your’e stories! I to want to become a writer like you when im older and i hope one day i can capture whats its like for a girl growing up the way you have in your books! Me and my friends have passed Gingersnaps around and i think ive convinced every girl i know to read it! Me ad my friends Amy & Maria even came down to edinburgh to meet you at the book fair but we had to leave before we got the chance! We were gutted! Please never stop writing because you are way better than Jacqueline Wilson or JK Rowling & i dont want to have to go back to reading there books! From your biggest new fans Heather,Maria & Amy x
It is a REALLY good book, and advice anyone who love’s Cathy’s books to read it. The thing that confuses me though, is that while I was reading the extract (juts for fun because I already have the real book), instead of Chelsea Martin, it was Sophie Martin. I made me laugh, because one of my enemies, is also called Sophie!!!
