Gingersnaps was the first Cathy novel I ever read. From the first page to the last I was totally hooked. I could see the characters so vividly in my head and I felt true empathy for poor Sam and Emily who were my absolute fave characters.
I am obsessed with Cathy’s books and Gingersnaps is amazing!!

I know 19 seems like a strange age for me to be reading CC books… But in fact I am re-reading all my old favourites that I read cover to cover when I was about 14. Now I am older I understand the books in a different way and more than ever they mean something to me. I know what Ginger is going through. Freindship is one of the most brilliant yet awful things as when it goes right its brilliant. You feel on top of the world, loved and some what indistrucatble. However when it falters, often through difference it is purely destroying. But… This book does contain a beautiful strong message. Often it is better to be happy being who you are… maybe not as popular, or with the “in crowd” than being sad and feeling false as you pretend to be something that you know deep down you really don’t want to be.
I just love this book, this is my favorite. I’m sad because it doesn’t have continue.
