‘You can make a wish come true, if you’re determined . . .’
Gone are the days when Ginger was an outsider, always on the fringes of friendship. She’s swapped puppy fat and pigtails for make-up and hair straighteners and never looked back – until now. Ginger and Shannon are best mates, but when they befriend lonely Emily, everything changes. Even the saxophone-playing boy in the trilby hat can’t help – he’s part of the problem. Are Ginger and Shannon drifting apart or can they stay best friends forever?
GingerSnaps’ rocks! Cathy Cassidy is defanatily becoming to take J.Wilson’s place!

I loved this book, it was great. i got it as soon as it came out and i read it in a night. i have read all your books and cant wait for you to write another one.
By the cover of the book I already fell n love with it. I got so hooked up in it it only took me two hours to finish it. I especially love the ending when Shannon and Ginger are still friends even though they’re going their own ways. This is the best book I’ve ever read! I would reccomend this to people aged 11-16. I’m hoping anew book as exciting as this book soon comes out as I have nothing to read!
omg cathy cassidy you are the best author ever i love your stories the first book i read was dizzy which i got free from a magazine and i loved it because i love reading about people who hav so many problems and i like to see how they sort it but my fav part of your books is when they fall in love. Thankyou so much for writing gingersnaps its sooooooo cool i read it in three days but i wish it would keep going…..love your books!
The book was fantastic! I’d been counting down the days until it came out since I got Ice Cream and Dreams! The day it came out after school I rushed to the bookshop. It was the last copy there, I was sO LUCKY to get it! It showed me that its okay to be weird, especially when its really just being yourself.

This has to be the best book yet. It isn’t possible that someone could be able to put down all that on paper, yet here she’s done it again! Sam is like a boy version of me (sounds weird, I know) with a narrowboat added on. I have great friends but I’m never anyone else with them than myself and I like being different. What sort of friend is someone if they don’t know who you really are?Gingersnaps is a great book for anyone who has ever felt like they don’t fit in, with a hint of romance thrown in.Fab***** Loved it.
This is undoubtedly Cathy’s very best book, followed at a close second and third by Driftwood and Indigo Blue. Gingersnaps is an incredibly beautiful book. I was touched by it’s powerful message. The way she described the scene where Ginger ran into the woods (after she went down to apologize to Sam for being ashamed of him that day they went to town, only to discover their narrow boat gone) and caught a falling leaf and made a wish, and how the fox snuggled against her, was so beautiful. I can’t describe it, but Cathy made the scene seem as realistic as possible. I felt like I was almost WATCHING Ginger sitting there cry and then get back up on her two feet. That whole scene itself really stood out for me in the whole book, along with the two chapters going into Shannon’s wild party – I felt like I was THERE at the party itself! Sounds crazy, but it’s true. :3
Overall, this is a fantastic book I reccommend to pretty much anybody (yes, boys!). You will NOT be let down. This is one of the most amazing books I have ever read in my life.
