GingerSnaps

Is Ginger’s best friend really her biggest rival?

‘You can make a wish come true, if you’re determined . . .’

Gone are the days when Ginger was an outsider, always on the fringes of friendship. She’s swapped puppy fat and pigtails for make-up and hair straighteners and never looked back – until now. Ginger and Shannon are best mates, but when they befriend lonely Emily, everything changes. Even the saxophone-playing boy in the trilby hat can’t help – he’s part of the problem. Are Ginger and Shannon drifting apart or can they stay best friends forever?

  3. ‘GingerSnaps’ is my favourite book by Cathy Cassidy. I think I love it because I can identify with how Ginger feels when Shannon and Emily pay more attention to eachother than to her. Reading this book, I felt like I wasn’t the only one who was being ignored in a friendship. Another reason is that I love music, and Sam Taylor is my favourite character in the book! He listens to the kind of music that no one else he knows likes. I find that cool because I listen to a lot of stuff from the ’60s, that none of my friends listen to! Once again, Cathy Cassidy has written another fantastic book that I couldn’t put down – thank you! xxx

  4. I love Gingersnaps. I really want it to be made into a movie. I’d love to direct one. I have the beginning I’d use in my head! Starts of:
Looking out over a sunrise and how the light falls through the leaves of the wood by Candy’s Bridge. A fox peers through the leaves and trees and wanders through. The camera wanders through the wood to Ginger’s bedroom where she sits as a young girl, looking out of the window sadly… I’d love to direct it! Anyway, this book is amazing! Well done Cathy! xx
