GingerSnaps

Is Ginger’s best friend really her biggest rival?

‘You can make a wish come true, if you’re determined . . .’

Gone are the days when Ginger was an outsider, always on the fringes of friendship. She’s swapped puppy fat and pigtails for make-up and hair straighteners and never looked back – until now. Ginger and Shannon are best mates, but when they befriend lonely Emily, everything changes. Even the saxophone-playing boy in the trilby hat can’t help – he’s part of the problem. Are Ginger and Shannon drifting apart or can they stay best friends forever?

  3. When I saw this book in Waterstones I thought; ‘Hmm, maybe I’ll like this one.’ I don’t usually read this type of thing… I’m more of a Vampire/Werewolf reader, but
now I have ALL of your books and I can’t wait for Angel Cakes!

  7. It’s very difficult for an author to get the feelings just right, usually because they’re adults. Especially, if they write children’s books. Luckily for me, I can write as I go along my childhood be using my own experiences because I can remember them just as clearly as if they were yesterday. I was actually thinking of writing a book about a girl who gets tangled up in a friendship that she can’t get out of. That was before I read gingersnaps. But now I know, I’d never be able to write it the way you did. When I read Gingersnaps, I didn’t want to put it down because I wanted to see if you could get the feelings right. I’ve been in a situation where my best friend controls me and it really is hard to say no and stand up to them. You hit it just right because I know that once you’ve stood up to them, it is easier to walk away. In a friendship, it is so important that you get your way. I felt so sorry for Emily too because I’ve had a best friend leave after I’d known her for nine years. I wanted to thank you.
