Driftwood

Can Hannah stop her friends from drifting apart?

‘I feel like I’m losing my best mate . . .’

Hannah and Joey have been best friends forever – just the two of them. But when Joey’s new foster brother, Paul, turns up, everything changes. First Joey falls for Hannah’s brother, Kit. Then Paul complicates things – with some kittens, a chocolate bar and a stripy pink bicycle.

Hannah’s world is turning upside down. Can you rescue a friendship when it’s drowning? Can you save a friend in trouble – if they don’t want to be saved?

  6. I liked this story alot. I thought Paul was gay at first when he kept
drawing Kit! It had lots of twists and turns, the kittens were adorabe
too! I loved the way it ended!

  8. This is my favourite Cathy Cassidy book! I could really relate with Paul and so I fell in love with him straight away! The sea green eyes/floppy toffee coloured hair combination sounds irresistable… And we could discuss comics and he could show me his superhero art and I could show him my manga art… BE REAL PAUL YOU DUMMY!!!! Joey seemed really cool, wish I had the confidence to dress like that! My best friends auntie is a teacher at my school who doesn’t exactly like me down to one reason: hair. I absolutely refuse to wear my hair up unless I’m in her eyeline or any other slightly strict teachers, and when I do it’s always at the side. I guess in that way I’m similar to Joey! I hated Kit, i don’t think he learned his lesson… then again who am I to judge? As for the cats, i liked Pauls idea: Scrappy, Dusty and Scruff, but only because Krusty sounds a little…. hmmm… I think I’ll save that one for later.
