Driftwood

Can Hannah stop her friends from drifting apart?

‘I feel like I’m losing my best mate . . .’

Hannah and Joey have been best friends forever – just the two of them. But when Joey’s new foster brother, Paul, turns up, everything changes. First Joey falls for Hannah’s brother, Kit. Then Paul complicates things – with some kittens, a chocolate bar and a stripy pink bicycle.

Hannah’s world is turning upside down. Can you rescue a friendship when it’s drowning? Can you save a friend in trouble – if they don’t want to be saved?

  5. Driftwood has got to be the nomber 1 best book i have EVER EVER read!

The main characters are two best friends, girls called Hannah and Joey. Paul,Joey’s foster brother and Kit Hannah’s brother are also two main characters.

Paul is 13 years old whereas Joey and Hannah are 12. Paul has a secret crush on Hannah but Hannah dosent know, whereas Kit and Joey cant resist each other!

Paaul gets bullied at his school by Kit and his mates, and so Paul runs away. The police search everywhere for him, but he is nowhere to be seen. Hannah is such a good friend to him though so she knows where he’ll be, on a island called Seal island, and thats where she found him.

Paul got sent away back to a childrens home and Hannah was desperate for him to return. One day while she awas down at the beach with her cute kitten she had found in the kitchen bins, she saw him. Paul was living with Joey and her family again at last! Paul never got bullied again!

  7. Thank you so much for this and all of your books, Cathy!
They are amazing! They make you think and you can really share how the characters are feeling. I think perhaps Driftwood might be my favourite of all of yours books. Paul is my very character out of any of them! He’s so sweet! I wish people didn’t pick on people just because of how they looked…
Thanks again Cathy for another fantastic book!

  8. Driftwood was a very good book! I felt as if I was being there with Paul and the book helped me to put myself in someone els’s shoe.
When I read the kitten bit-Krusty, I could nearly feel her on my neck. I could imagine how cute she would look like. Driftwood was never boring-it was like a piece of mouthwatering apple pie!!! Everyone should read it because it’s just too bad to skip it and plus it’s absolutly fab & wonderful.

  10. Although I love reading Linda Chapman and Jacqueline Wilson books, Driftwood is definately my favourite book yet. I really loved the bit when Hannah was at the beach and turned to see Paul standing behind her. I think that was my favourite bit.
