Dizzy

Will her secret birthday wish come true?

‘I never sleep, the night before my birthday . . . it’s the only day of the year I hear from her . . .’

Dizzy’s mum left when she was small. But every year, on her birthday, something arrives in the post – a present or a card with her mum’s loopy writing on it. Dizzy has kept everything.

This year is different. Nothing comes in the post, but something amazing is about to arrive on Dizzy’s doorstep. Something that will whisk her away – and put Dizzy’s world in a spin.

  2. I read Dizzy straight after Driftwood and thought it was amazing, it made me cry. I felt close to the characters as if I knew them. I also loved it as it was set in Scotland where I live. It was a very sad and heartwarming story with a happy ending. I am so glad that you wrote this book, Thank You! xx

  4. Dizzy is about a girl who lives with her dad but has always dreamed of meeting her mum. Every year ssomething turns up from her but this year things are diffrent. Her mum turns up on the door step. Dizzy and her mum leave to go to music festivals in her mums campervan with her step-dad and step-brother, her mums friend and her son. She thought that her mum would be great but now she is having second thoughts. She has made friends with her mums friends son, Fin and her step-brother Mouse. When her mum and step-dad go away to India she is left to live with Fin his mum and Mouse but Mouse burns himself by trying to jump over a fire one his bike. Will Dizzy stay with her friends or go back to stay with her dad???

  7. Dizzy is a book about a young girl. Her mother left her when she was small and so she has been living with her father. One day she comes home from school and sees a weird looking car outside, IT IS IN-FACT HER MOTHERS CAR! And so the story goes on as stories do and she has many wonderful, exciting and strange adventures with her mother. Get the book from your nearest bookstore and read to find out about her lovely adventures!

  8. This is the first book I have ever read from Cathy Cassidy and I think it is CLASS! It is one of the best books I have ever read. Once I read Dizzy I needed to get her next book and I finished it in 2 days, I would have done it in 1 but it was during the week and I have school. I just love the way Cathy writes and I hope that she gets writing again after Lucky Star. KEEP WRITING CATHY YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
