Angel cake is an amazing story about a polish girl called Anya.She has a mum, a dad and a sister called Kazia.Anya’s dad goes over to work in Britan and works for 3 years. Over those 3 years he sends postcards back to Anya and Kazia saying how lovely Britan is. When Anya’s mum announces the news that they are moving to Britan Anya is excited because she has dreamed of living in Britan for a while but when they arrive in Britan, Anya is a bit dissapointed. Anya describes Britan and how it is nothing like she imagined. Anya is also very dissapointed about the house that she has to live in. It is a little flat above a chip shop called Mr Yips’s Fish Emporium.
When Anya goes to school she meets bad oy Dan. Dan’s not an angel but she’s sure that there’s a sweeter side to him. When things begin to fall apart Anya relizes that she’s not alone in the world of Britan- how can Dan be such bad news when being with him feels like heaven?
In the end Anya becomes great friends with Dan and loves living in Britan(even though it rains a lot) 🙂

Cathy’s book were written from her soul and heart
i love angel cake! i like anya and i can understand how being in a different country is hard. been there done that. its tough. i love dan and its so sweet where dan waits for anya and she blanks him. i nearly cried at the dance when anya feels so hurt that dan kisses lily caldwell and runs out. dan rushes to catch up with her and anya hurts him so much. then dan gets lost and anya feels terrible. i loved all the characters in the book. anya,dan,kazia,karen,
frankie,kurt even lily. actually i loved lily. she is jealous that the boy shes crushing on likes someone else. someone new. it was a mean thng to kiss dan but i still like her. keep writing cathy!
Wow, your book was amazing! If swept me away into a wonderland, where I felt like I knew everyone from the story. Such adjectives used like, “Caramel skin” and “Chocolate eyes” I was never into reading, but you changed my mind, seriously! This is the first of your books I have read and I will read the rest!
