Summer’s Dream

SUMMER is quiet, confident, pretty, popular and VERY serious about dance . . .

Summer has always dreamed of dancing, and when a place at ballet school comes up, she wants it so badly it hurts.

Middle school ends and the holidays begin, but unlike her sisters, Summer has no time for lazy days and sunny beach parties. The audition becomes her obsession, and things start spiralling out of control . . .

The more Summer tries to find perfection, the more lost she becomes. Will she realise – with the help of the boy who wants more than friendship – that dreams come in all shapes and sizes?

I feel so sorry for summer, she didn’t get the happy ending she had hoped for, but I still do my own Ballet, + this book has inspired me even more to dance my heart out

  5. Dear Cathy,
I`ve just read Summer`s Dream and i could not put it down. I showed it to my friends and my German friend borrowed it for two days and when she returned it to me, she said :”Cathy rocks seriously” I wish to be someone like you when i grow up!

  6. I love all your books but this is my favourite so far. Ever since my friend got me the set of dizzy, indigo blue, driftwood, scarlett, sundae girl and lucky star, i haven’t been able to put them down. I am writing my own book and yours have given me some inspiration. I like how your stories don’t just end in ‘Happily Ever After’ all the time;it makes the story seem more realistic.I have had a dream like Summer too, to be an author just like you. I hope after Coco Caramel and Sweet Honey you continue to link your books to ‘The Chocolate Box Girls’ somehow. Your books are like when you catch you jumper on somehing sharp-It’s difficult to get it off.

  8. Your books are amazing but this book is my favourite along with Marshmellow Skye. I have a friend exactly like Summer except instead of ballet she figure skates and is amazing, she has a boyfriend like Summer’s and her boyfriend flirts with every other girl. She is still deciding whether to break up with him or not. Thanks for writing this book it’s so realistic and I really felt how Summer was feeling 🙂
