Summer’s Dream

SUMMER is quiet, confident, pretty, popular and VERY serious about dance . . .

Summer has always dreamed of dancing, and when a place at ballet school comes up, she wants it so badly it hurts.

Middle school ends and the holidays begin, but unlike her sisters, Summer has no time for lazy days and sunny beach parties. The audition becomes her obsession, and things start spiralling out of control . . .

The more Summer tries to find perfection, the more lost she becomes. Will she realise – with the help of the boy who wants more than friendship – that dreams come in all shapes and sizes?

  3. (WARNING : CONTAINS SPOILERS).
    This is a brilliant book.
You can feel Summer’s passion for dance, but then, slowly, the passion turns into obsession.
She begins to cut down on her food, thinking that it’s fine. Gradually, Summer starves herself.
When Honey is caught kissing JJ in the stable and smoking, will everything be fine, or will Honey and Summer be so busy arguing that they don’t realize the flames?

One of my favourite Cathy Cassidy books, along with Cherry Crush and Marshmallow Skye. All of the Chocolate Box Girls books are fabulous, if you haven’t read them already, I recommend them.

  5. I love your books, they are awesome! My mum bought me Cherry Crush 2 Christmasses ago, and i enjoyed it tremendously. I then bought Marshmallow Skye with my money and enjoyed it even more! I’ve read Summer’s Dream around a month ago and I just fell in love with your books!!! i’m a different aged reader than my actual age (16 7 months) and i still loved it so much! I used to live in Somerset and dreamed of having a life like theirs, but difficulty obviously seeps in as the girls tell their own story. AMAZING!

  7. This book is cool.
I’ve always loved dance but never actually taken any lessons. When I read Summers book It made want to start lessons to so now do Ballet every saturday and I really enjoy it!
This is such an amazing book. When Summer fainted and was i hospital I felt really sorry for her, It made me reilize how tough dance might be and if maybe during my life I’ll break down like Summer.
I hope Summers relationship with Alfie wil turn out better than it did with Aron He sounds like such a JERK!!
I really hope that after you have written Coco Caramel and Sweet Honey you will write another series of the Chocolate box girls when they are a bit older, because I would love to see how they all turn out, especially Summer, Because I want to know if she does go to Rochelle Accademy, Or even the Royal Ballet School!!!!!!!!
