PARTY COMP

PARTY COMP

The theme of our new writing comp is… THE PARTY.

Write a story/poem about a party, or linked to a party in some way. It might be a child’s birthday party, a tea party, a fancy dress party, a party to celebrate New Year or Christmas or a chistening, anniversary or other special occasion. The guests might be old or young, well-behaved or outrageous. There may be a fight, or gatecrashers, or an unexpected present, or a disaster. It might be a big party or a small one, it might be in very strange location, or perhaps set in the past or the future. It might be a traditional party, or a very unusual one… a brilliant party or a truly awful one… it’s up to you!
The writing comp is open to readers ALL AROUND THE WORLD… do remember to include your NAME, AGE and POSTAL ADDRESS with your entry, in case you are a winner.
Check the rules below and the terms and conditions, and send your story/poem to me at the website, along with your name and postal address in case you are a winner. What are you waiting for? Click here to enter.

Cathy’s Tips for Would-Be Writers…
Read lots – you’ll learn about style, plot and narrative as you go!
Write about something you care about – it’ll show!
Write as often as you can, even if it’s just in a diary/journal – it’s all practice!
Every story needs a beginning, middle and end – keep to the point and don’t get sidetracked!
Don’t expect overnight success – it took me A LONG TIME to get my first book published! But aim high, work hard… and follow your dreams!
