My favourite character is Mouse from Dizzy and Lucky Star. He is a weaver of dreams,a star chaser and he never, never gives up. In Lucky Star, Mouse speaks against the bullies; he stands up for the underdogs.I’m so glad you gave him a happy ending Cathy, because he deserves it.

Hey Cathy!!!!! I am so honoured to be writing to you!I was introduced to your wonderful, fantastic ,amazing ,wacky, touching tales about two months ago by a close friend and I’m hooked!!!! Do you have a rehab to help your readers overcome their addiction? Anyway, my favourite character of yours has to be Scarlett. This is because she is not afraid to be different. She is fearless and won’t stand for any nonsense.I’m an emo/hippy/indie, with red highlighted hair and she reminds me very much of myself. I have tried never to get into trouble at school or with my loved ones but i did used to be quite an angry girl.My mum is a diabetic and she has been in hospital quite a few times whilst i have been alive. Life can be very challenging for her sometimes and my dad and i have to be there for her when things go wrong.I had to grow up very quickly when i was little but i was always trying to hide how i really felt to stop my family having to worry about me.It was really hard knowing that there was nothing that i could do to help my mum. I lietrally had to stand back and watch my world come crumbling down infront of me. Then last year i began to get sudden huge, uncontrollable bursts of emotion, say fear or anger and then i would begin to hyperventilate. My mum (Being the star that she is) and i went to the doctors and it turns out that i was having frequent panic attacks!!! They referred me to a councillor, but after some heart to heart chats with my mum, i didn’t need the councillors help and i began slowly but surely calm down and after about 6 months, i got myself back to normal. This makes Scarlett and myself similar as she too chats with Clare who helps her through her angry stage. To be honest, when i first read Scarlett, I thought that she was a snotty,selfish little cow who was like a fierce tornado, ripping through the countryside and leaving behind it a massive path of destruction.But, as her character began to progress throughout the book, she became kinder, thoughtful, likeable!!!So thank you Cathy, for writng such a heart wrenching story that i and other readers could identify with. You, through your books, spread light to us youngsters who are different from others or those of us rejected by our piers for going to odd schools(like me!!) or dressing differently. You are the giant rainbow and warm spring sun at the end of the tunnel egging us on and giving us courage to stand out. So THANK YOU from me on behalf of all of my friends who wanted me to say hi for being such a great role model!!! YOU ROCK ,DON’T EVER CHANGE !!!

My favourite character is Indigo because she coped with a lot of hard things like looking after her little sister Mysti, she was more the mum. Indigo helped her mum the whole way through and I truly wish I had a true, courageous and adventurous friend like Indigo!

Hi Cathy, My favourite character is Mouse, because he starts off in Dizzy as a little innocent boy and you get to follow him through his life and through the way you write until he becomes a troubled teenager in Lucky Star. I think mouse in an inspiring character with a taste for adventure and exploration. On the outiside he seems like a typical teenage rebel, but he is much more than that and the way you write, letting the words just flow out on a stream onto the paper helps to describe the way Mouse really is and how he is not just a normal teen. It also shows why teenagers act this way in a form of deffence. Thankyou for writing Lucky Star and Dizzy and helping me to understand youth life today through these books! Millie xxx :D

Hiyaah Cathy, My Favourite character is cat because i love her nature and the way that she is always the leader and she isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. I love the way she does her best no matter what and even though she has been through such a lot she still continues to be strong anf holds her head held high. Although she can be naughty like skippin school and stealing things she always means well. At the end when the secret is uncovered, she stays strong. I think she is incredible brave. My favourite Character ever has to be Joey from Driftwood, she reminds me of my friends alot! I love the way that she isn’t afraid to be who she wants to be and she does what she likes, but she never hurts anyone. I love her unquie style and all that uniform breaking! I don’t like the way that she sort of deserts Hannah for Kit though, but then if that had never happened then Hannah never would have become such good friends with Paul!So maybe it was a good thing! Driftwood is my favourite book of all time! Also, I discovered Good Charlotte mainly through that book and now they’re one of my favourite bands ever! Hi cathy!!!!I got given Sundae Girl for my birthday last year and then couldn’t stop reading your books! Even when I had to have my eyes opperated on I still read lots of your books (even if I was in pain!!)Your books are so addictive and inspiring, I don’t know where you get your ideas from!Anyway My fav book and character (I STILL CAN ’T BELIEVE HOW MANY OF YOUR CHARACTERS I LIKE !!) would have to be Hannah from Driftwood because of the pain she goes through, not just any old pain, friendship pain that hurts more and more untill it might stop.FRiendship is one of the biggest things ever in life and to go through the ups and downs and keep brave, Hannahs got it! I love Driftwood but I also love so many of your other books whenever I’m feeling down (I am at the moment due to my rare condition with my eyes) I read your books and they cheer me up.Never stop writing such good books, I’m sure girls everwhere will agree with me. PS: I can’t wait for Ginger snaps! I read an extract and I can’t wait for it to be out! Ginger seems so sad and down, those girls are so mean yet at the end of the extract she’s a bit mysterious, by the way she says how that’s all changed. my favourite character is jude from sunndee girl because she is very out going and likes to keep things personal also she had some trouble at home at times and it reminds me a bit about my self. also theres somethings that she dosn’t get in life and thats okey with her. also when i got to the part in the book where her class had to carol sing it reminds me of primary school and the boy in the rollerboots also is discribed very like one of my guy mates it’s like you wer discribing my life.

Hey Cathy! Indie from Indigo blue has gt 2 b my fave character ‘cause life has thrown a lot of tough times at her, things that are not her fault, yet she still cares about everyone around her. She neva does nething wrong bt still the tough times come, and even though it feels like her whole world has turned 2 black nd white, she still looks out and cares for her mum and her lil baby sis. Her bezzie isn’t even there 4 her. Because of how brave and caring she is, Hannah from “Driftwood” is my definate favourite character. She stood up to Murphy and her brother, and she helped Paul through some very hard times. Even though she had hard feelings against Joey and Kit, she tried to keep the cool against them, even when things got REALLY difficult. Hannah is very inspiring; she has a lovely personality; and alike me, she adores cats. She tries her hardest to help Paul, and is determined enough she keeps going, even when Paul won’t do anything to help himself. Hannah is my all time favourite, and “Driftwood” is an incredible book – I love it!

I like Jude best. If you overlook her carefree writing, you will see that she has actually made a big step. She thinks her family embarrasses her much more than they actually do, which makes her uncertain of herself and so has a hard time letting people in her life, but in Sundae Girl she learns that opening up to the right person made her feel confident and happy about herself.

I love all your books they are all brilliant and it was really hard to choose a favourite character but in the end i thought that Scarlet is definately my favourite charecter. I love the way she has her own style and doesn’t care what other people think. I love her rebellious attitude. It is really hard to pick a fave character as they are all amazing in their own way. I really enjoy reading cathy cassidy’s books as they are so full of life, each book is different and each character has a differnt set of mixed emotions. I woud say that Mouse was my fave character beacause of the fact that his life continued from dizzy to luck star. I just Borrowed Scarlett from my local library and I loved it! My favourite character is Scarlett because she starts off as a trouble-maker and ends up being a caring big sister that looks out for Holly and helps Clare when she falls from the loft and goes into labour! Hi Cathy! My favourite character has to be Scarlett. Despite everything that she’s been through, she’s still strong and doesn’t care what people think about her. She’s a bit mean and has serious attitude problems, but in the end she can still change. She’s the sort of character that you remember. When you read the book, you don’t forget about Scarlett’s bright red hair and the stud that was pierced through her tongue. You remember all the bad glorious things she did in her story. Well I think it’s really hard to choose because out of every Cathy Cassidy books the characters are fantasic but if I have to choose which I do it would be Dizzy from the book Dizzy. I chose Dizzy because she is very adventurous and I love having adventures. She coped with living without her mum and then when she went to stay with her mum she coped with it aswell because she missed her dad. I think she is a very brave girl who is very determined and never gives up in what she believes in. Dizzy is just a wild and very creative girl, she’s a brilliant character that’s why I chose her because she just lets her imagination go wild and free. Dizzy is definitely my idol.

It’s hard to choose my favorite character, because all your books are FAB , but I’d have to say Dizzy Kerr. Hey Cathy! My fave character is Jude from Sundae Girl, because she just has that little something extra!! She copes well in hard situations, keeping her feet firmly on the ground. She’s thoughtful and reliable….and just about everything you could want in a best mate! I’m glad everything works out for her in the end with sweet ol’ Kevin!

My absolute favourite character has to be Dizzy because she helps everyone out and doesn’t expect anything back eg. she looks after mouse all the time without being told to! She is a helpfull person who doesn’t get praised enough for all her help. I love the way she acts through the the book. DIZZY IS THE BEST BOOK EVER !

My fave character was Scarlett. She was brave and didn’t care what other people thought. She went through a lot, especially going to live with her Dad in Ireland. Scarlett isn’t a girl you easily forget. Who do you know that dyes their hair the colour of tomato soup, pierces their tongue and starts a riot in the cafeteria?

My favourite charater is Scarlet because she doesn’t care about what others think about her and doesn’t mind if she stands out from everybody else, e.g. her hair. Also when she gets sent to her dad, she has to cope with lots of change, and doesn’t settle down well. However that soon changes when she gets to grips with things, SO I respect Scarlet for dealing with everything well especially when Claire had her baby sister Hazel, I thought that she coped extremely well. Finally Scarlet is never a character that I would forget as she is to funny and outgoin!!!!!

Hello, Cathy. My favourite character would have to be Scarlett, for numerous reasons! Firstly, I think Scarlett just wants to fit in – like many of us young girls – but she also wants to be unique, creative self. Scarlett is the type of girl who doesn’t let anything phase her – Daring, wild…An out-going, full-of-confidence riot who you can’t help but remember. I think that people like Scarlett so much is that she isn’t afraid to speak her mind and she doesn’t care what anybody else thinks. I admire her, and I long to have her outspoken personality…It’d be great just to show who you really are like Scarlett does. Changes in Scarlett’s life make her bad-attitude worse, and she seems to be feeling miserable. When she meets Kian, everything changes; He’s mystically mysterious, which she (and I!) love…The friendship between them is so strong that they’re perfect together – Love. I can never forget Scarlett, as she is easily my role model; It sounds funny, but I’d love to be her. She’s got to grips with everything in her own way, taking it all in and dealing with life. I think Scarlett is a character that’ll be remembered by readers forever.

My favourite character from your books is Dizzy. I felt like I could be best friends with her in real life, because she reminds me of myself. I know what it’s like to feel out of place and I could really connect with her(I’m also extremely jealous; Finn would be my dream date!). I’ve read Dizzy more times than I can count on both hands and because Dizzy was the first book I read by Cathy, I was hooked and have bought (and loved) every single book she’s written. Cathy’s books have changed me, I am now able to be happy with the way I am, and not have to worry that people will call me “emo” or “goth” or “weird”. To be honest, all of Cathy’s characters are my favourite – so it’s almost impossible to chose just one!

I love Jess from love peace and chocolate! When she really liked Jack and so did Kady, she still held back for ages and did not make out she was really upset about them going out. She tried to warn Kadey even though they had fallen out, and she was so loyal. Her and Kadey where such good mates and realised that some boy did not need to stop them being reaally great mates. She was who she was and was really cteative thinkin up all the festival and even having someone else take a lot of the credit. But in the end, she made up with Kadey and they reaalised they where so important to eachother really. All mates should be like this and she was. She was loyal caring creative and fun. Its the best book and cheers me up everytime! And if all the copies have run out. I will send you in my to send! =] evie

My favourite character is Scarlett. I love her personality and how she goes her own way she doesn’t follow a crowd or want to be like someone she is herself and I wish everyone in the world was like her! She is really determined to get what she wants but really sensitive on the side which you get to know of further through the book! I like her because she nearly gives in but even through the worst bits she sticks with the people she knows needs her. She is very clever and bright and she is always in for a adventure and looks after her sister and family! She is mysterous not your average girl with hair poker straight and loads of makeup on! I have got the book and have read it many times as well as your collection of books so this was a tough choice but she wins my vote in the end! I would be so happy to win a singned copy of scarlett!

My favourite character is Mouse from Lucky Star because he is so loyal and treats everyone with respect. It so interesting the way he has stuck by his mum during all the problems she has had in the past. And although he was terrified, he still took Lucky (Or Stupid as Scully called him) away from Frank Scully because he knew it was the right thing to do. I just really hope that mouse forgives Cat because he really did like her!

well im currently reading ginger snaps best book ever except indigo blue i love that bookit was the first one i read and i read it other and other again. my fave characters have gotta be indigo cos she is such a kind loving and sensitive person!! ginger because she is just so scared and fragile at first but builds herself up to be very confedent indeed !! and i also love sundae girl !!! i went to sainsburys with me mum on wednesday and bought gingersnaps as soon as the man brung it out on the trolley thingy lol thanks keep writing me more books for me to read i love them best auther ever luv ya Aimee

When she saw the kittens, she was really sensitive and sweet and when she found out what Kit did to Paul, she dumped Kit and went to see if Paul was okay. Joey is just like me, normally nice but can let people down sometimes and that’s why I chose her!
