Sundae Girl - the verdict!
Just catching up on an avalanche of your FAB reviews and questions… thanks to everyone who emailed with such great feedback on Sundae Girl and Love, Peace & Chocolate! I’m answering as many as I can, but apologies if you haven’t heard back – some of my replies have bounced back. Here’s what some of you have been saying….
Sundae Girl is the best book i have ever read! On the 31st March (Jude’s Piano exam!) my family and I went to the Trafford Centre. After about 2 hours I finally managed to drag them into WHSmiths. I went straight to the children’s section, and immediately my eyes fell on a sheeny shiny, gold-n-yellow book… Sundae Girl! I grabbed one of the books and bolted to the counter. Sundae Girl is BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have read Sundae Girl and i thought that it was amazing. There were some funny things and some sad things – this is by far the best book that you have written so far. I can now only wait for Lucky Star to come out.

As soon as your new book, Sundae Girl, was out I actually screamed. I saw an advertisement on the back of my favourite magazine, Mizz, so i forgot about buying the magazine and went staright to the book section, saw the last copy, snatched it and read it in a few hours. It was a fab book. I can’t wait until you’re next one!

I loved Sundae Girl! Kevin Carter sounds like the type of guy I’d go for- crazy and cute! Wow, your books scarily resemble bits of my life (and a couple of my wildest daydreams)! I just wanted to say congrats on the new book- it’s great!

Hi Simonne! Sundae Girl will be out in SA in June, but not sure if the camper van will make it over – that would be soooooo cool! Maybe one day!

I got Mizz mag and read Love, Peace & Chocolate. I thought it was great. Me and my friend hav just had our first boyfriends & we felt we were cool wiv them but really you can never get as close as your best friend!

I have never read your books before but got Love, Peace & Chocolate free with Mizz… it was just so real and I loved it, totally. I have had a similar problem myself! Got Sundae Girl on Saturday and loved that too… you’ve got yourself a new fan!

Hi Cathy. U came to our school and I loved it! I read Scarlett and, yes, I know it sounds wrong but I cried. And I am a boy. Weird. I also got Love, Peace and Chocolate and I loved it. Itwas just so…real. Can’t wait till Lucky Star – at last! A book about boys!

All the books you’ve written are GREAT ! I absolutely love them… I have read Driftwood, Scarlett, Dizzy and Love, Peace and chocolate… I know that it’s a little booklet about friendship, but I cried alot because it reminded me of my friends and what’s going on in the real worl… =)

I loved the book!
Being only 11 i think i am a bit too young 4 mizz but i bought it just for the book.Love peace and chocolate was great!I bought sundae girl the same day and both were bril.Lovin all the groovy 60’s themes.Find it hard to imagine any1 mad enough to get married in an elvis catsuit. Got my SATS next week and making my self revise by covering 1 section in my revision book,then reading a chapter of sundae girl,then love peace and choc,Then as much of dizzy as i can get in to the last few sections i have to revise!
i can look forward to the end of Sats tho coz i am rewarding my self with a brand new book.(i still need Indigo blu,scarlett and driftwood)Am also having a party on the 18th may .gonna gab about sundae girl and love peace and chocolate with my besties! GReat!

All your books I have read so far are brilliant.I have still to read Driftwood and Love,peace and chocolate.I am always talking about your books to my friend. I loved Sundae Girl! Just like i liked all your other books. MY fav character was Kevin Carter, so determind and brave, sounds cute too! I wish i new a boy like that.

Although Driftwood is my favourite book of yours, I definitely experienced Sundae Girl in a better way! (then again I read Driftwood on a train…) Lying in a hammock, under a cherry blossom tree, sunny, but not hot and nibbling strawberry pocky (a must-have!) all topped off with a book by my favourite author EVER ! Now that’s a haven for book lovers…

sundae girl is fab! kevin carter would be the best boyfriend ever! i was in scotland and dragged my mum to the nearest waterstones and although i was looking for another book sundae girl caught my eye and it was mine! :P i read within a few hours and thought it was great! i read it snuggle up to a pussycat! this book is FANTASTIC please write more cathy!x xx

I read Sundae girl in under a day!!! I was totally obsessed with reading it and I loved it. I still prefer Scarlett, though!

i think sundae girl is one of the BEST books i have EVER read. Carter sounds SO nice (i wish he was real, lol) and i realated to it cause our grannys both had the same thing (so did cathys).
