That’s funny! I got my book Gingersnaps in WHSmith’s before July, I think it was the last week of June on a Saturday! I haven’t had my book long but I have already read it three (!) times and I’m reading it again! What it your next book called? I tried writing some stories but when I re-read them they sounded boring and babyish, I was embarrassed! I’d much sooner read your books! I am sooooooo lucky because I have got every single one of your books, including Love, Peace & Chocolate and Ice cream and Dreams! I went to Glasgow Fort one Saturday and was passing by borders when I saw a big sign. It read Cathy Cassidy, at first I thought it was a special book sale so I dragged my mum inside and went looking then when I saw a big long line with children standing with Cathy Cassidy’s new book Gingersnaps… I realised. I grabbed a book and got in line. The line was long and I got bored so I started reading Gingersnaps. When I read the first two words… Ginger Brown, I knew it would be a great book. I continued reading the book till I was next in line then I stopped and started thinking about what I was going to say when suddenly my sister nudged me and pushed me forward. Sitting in front of me was… Cathy Cassidy. It was so cool. She signed my book and asked if I had read any of her books. I had so she asked me what was my favourite. I said ‘Lucky Star’ and she told me that Driftwood had always been one of her favourites. It was one of the best days of my life!

I just started reading your books i first read Scarlet it was reeeeeeeeeeally good! i bought Ginger Snaps yesterday i missed u on Monday coz i was at school:( BUt i got a singed copy that you left! I really like Jacquline Wilson Books and yours are very simallar.I am like Ginger i got bullied when i was younger because i was fat hadginger hair and spots i was actually bullied by one of my so called friends but i lost the puppy fat and i cover my spots with foundation i still get called ginger but you learn to cope with it i just say stuff like i can dye my hair but u cant sort ur ugly face ! i know its vnot very nice but it works. For a while i wanted my hair dyed but now i like it. I am induvidual im me ! luv Rachel xx

I think that the new book is fantastic, i read ot in 2 hours! I recently bought Sundae Girl, Driftwood and Gingersnaps at a 3 for the price of 2 sale. I love them all! In Gingersnaps i love Gingers personality, it’s so sweet! I have met a few total Shannons, and one of my best friends is a bit of an Emily! I would like to say i’m an Emily or a Ginger but i think i am a half Shannon and half Emily! :)

I reckon my fave book is Sundae Girl, Then Ginger Snaps, Then Lucky Star, Then Scarlett, Then Driftwood, Then Indigo blue and then Dizzy. I love them all so much and will continue to i’m sure.

Gingersnaps is an AMAZING book, I read it in an hour. I am so bowled over by the shear Teenage understanding in that book. I used to be bullied because of my looks, and you were honestly, although I don’t know you, a light in the darkness, your books kept me going and I had something to turn to. I never thought I could love someone’s books as much as I love yours, but, guess what, I CAN ! Cathy you are literally amazing, and your books are evn BETTER ! Hi Cathy, I read Gingersnaps and now I have changed my mind Lucky Star isn’t my favourite book Gingersnaps is!!!! Sam is just amazing and just the right guy for Ginger because they are both different. Oh, I love all the band names Sam always makes up liek Broken Bones, Blue Lemonade etc. I used to be bullied but then I learned to stand up for myself like Ginger. I wish I could find a true friend like Emily she is so honest and just so friendly. At first I thought Shannon was nice but when I really found out about her I knew she wasn’t the right girl for someone like Ginger. Your book really shows the true meaning of life and tells people that you have to be careful who your friends are because they might not be your true friends at all. I was definitely trapped in the book and once I actually thought I was in the whole story because I visualised the story in my head. I wish I met you at Glasgow but I was in Lanzarote. And Cathy congratulations for writing such an amazing book that’s the best so far. I loved Gingersnaps!!!!! I secretly had a bit of a crush on Sam in it!!! I was so jealous of Ginger! I thought it was a brilliant story as it taught people of the properties of Friendship and that Shannon was not her real friend. It was a class story and I am looking forward to your next book!Shannon was not a real friend and Ginger did not really realise in time. I think it was a good thing that Emily came along, even though Ginger did not like her at the start, she set her straight. She was there for her. I admire Ginger in one way as she was bullied but she tried to forget and turn over a new leaf. Emily was always there for her during then as well. Shannon totally changed Emily and I am not sure whether that was a good or a bad thing. But it teaches you to stand up for what you believe in. It’s now my favourite out of all the CC books.It’s the best book i’ve ever read.Ginger and emily are so nice and they are really good friends.When i got to the end i thougt it was predictable that when Sam and Ginger get in a fight that’s when sam will move but then i realised it was cause he hurt his ankle and i was really surprised.When i finished i wanted it to go on and on and never stop. just read gingersnaps and loved it. my favourite line in the whole book had to be when ginger says ” you have no choice” and sam replies with “i never have had, when it comes to you” i just think that it is really sweet. it sounds much better in context but is is so sweet, i love sam and ginger together :D

cathy i bought gingersnaps a couple days ago and i finished it in 5 hours and i thought it was amazing!!!!!!!! i loved it and ginger was soooo cool i loved her to bits. sam was so mysterious and sweet even when he is in a bad mood. i just loved that he wasnt your typical popular guy that everyone fancies and ends up dating someone completly different to him. he was his own person and sweet and caring too. i really think that you should win awards for your book. you are so different from the other writers you are independent and come up with different stories and you dont repeat yourself. like most authours do. you are definetly a wicked writer thanks for you superb books. i dont know what i would do with out them. milliexxx

I borrowed Sundae girl ,Dizzy and Driftwood at the school library and i <3 ‘d all three of them SO MUCH that i didn’t want to return them so i extended my loan!! I could really relate to Driftwood especially…. I’m really looking forward to reading Ginger Snaps too!!! I will never give up on reading your books…. wow. i love your book ginger snaps. i finished it in a day!!!! when i put it down i just had to read more. the best thing about the book is that it made me stand up to my best friend who is like that she likes to boss me around and i dont know why i did what she said. i think maybe cause i wanted to be in the ‘cool’ crowd. ive finished the book now and i keep going over to the book shelf cause i want to read it again i will never get tired of it but i will always know what will happen.. will there be more of ginger and sam? please make another book about what happens next i want to know more. thankyou. and i hope you choose this comment :D Ploy x

I <3 ginger snaps soooooo much. Its my fav. book ever by cathy. I <3 u aswell cathy sooooo much i only ever read ur books. Reading Ginger Snaps gave me mixed emitions. At the end i was sooo happy. I recommend this book to every girl out there u will <3 it.Its good for all ages from around 9 to 15-16

I loved the book to! I read the first chapter in Lucky Star and couldn’t wait to read the actual book. I got the book when I was in Stanstead and got it from WHsmiths. I read the book in 1 day as it was sooooooo griping! I just can’t wait for your next book Cathy! :) :) :) xxx ooo xxx ooo
