This year, the 100 finalists were invited to bring their best friend to an exclusive Cathy Cassidy Friendship Festival in a park in London.

The winners and their best friends were treated to an amazing day of makeovers, chocolate tasting, craft activities, knitting workshops, badge making, journalism workshops, music from amazing band Ivyrise and lots more. AND of course the chance to meet Cathy!

Cathy announced the winning entries at the festival, and the amazing first prize for Laura Taylor and her best friend Kelly Simmonds was everything they needed for the sleepover of their dream.

The entries were judged by our panel of friend experts, including Cathy Cassidy, Cathy’s editor at Puffin, Mizz’s editor Karen, Rachel from WHSmith and Joy from the NSPCC.

We just wanna say a BIG BIG thank you for the festival today! It was great!! We really enjoyed ourselves! We loved making our bath-bombs, painting our bowls, painting on the poster and all the goody bags were great! But the best thing of all, was meeting you! We knew we weren't going to win, so we weren't disappointed! We think the winner was veeeery deserving and was the best possible person you could have chosen! We both hope Laura feels better soon and then she and Kelly can enjoy their well deserved prize together!

Just wanted to let you know that the friendship festival was the best thing I have visited in my life, thankyou soooooo much for inviting me. Me and my friend have not stopped talking about it! We absoloutley loooooved the chocolate hand painting and kept going back for seconds, the ladies just gave us loads of free leftovers!!! Will we be able to see the pictures as someone said that they would be on the website..
