DREAM TEAM WINNERS!
OK… here it is… the moment you’ve all been waiting for! After much deliberation and discussion Puffin have picked seven new readers to join the CC DREAM TEAM… read on and find out who they are!
All winners have been informed by email, but in case you haven’t checked your mail lately, here we go… First of all, for the new Irish DREAM TEAM... congratulations to the following readers.
From Connaght, NADA NEWESSER; from Leinster, JANE FINNEGAN; from Munster, NORA FARRELL; and from Ulster, LEILA O NEILL. Well done to all who tried out for the Irish DREAM TEAM – picking just four was an almost impossible task.
To join the mainland UK DREAM TEAM, three more lucky readers have been chosen – congratulations to JULIANNE DOHERTY; EMILY MURRILLS; and ALICE BAXTER. Again, it was a very tough task, so a BIG thank you to all who entered – I have the best readers in the world, and if I had my way, I’d have picked you all!
Keep an eye on the DREAM TEAM link over the next few months… soon you will be able to see pics of the new Dream Teamers and find out more about them… it’s going to be VERY cool!
Last but not least, my book Cherry Crush has won the 2011 Redbridge Children’s Book Award… woo hoo! Thanks to all the fab children of Redbridge who voted for the book, and to the librarians and teachers too.

To ‘Annoyed’ – Puffin picked the winners, as they will be working directly with the Dream team. The standard was seriously high and I know it was a tough task to choose, but when you enter ANY comp you have to have a positive attitude about it – not everyone can be a winner, so if you are not able to cope with the possibility you may not be picked it may be better not to enter. I am so sorry you feel upset, as I know my readers amazing, creative and brilliant – but sadly only a few entrants could be picked out of the many hundreds who entered. I value ALL my readers, and never see any of them as ‘losers’ in any way… but perhaps the only way to keep everyone happy is to stop having comps at all? I think that would be so sad though! Sending a hug. xxx

Oh no, I didn’t win! :( But in the end, it’s the taking part that counts, right? I’m just kind of raging that I didn’t win as I doubt I’ll be able to enter again before I’m sixteen, as I’m 14 now. Oh, well, maybe I should give the writing comp a shot…but hey! The above entries were obviously the best, and the best always win, right? :) xxx

I feel so happy for everyone!I wouldn’t have the guts to enter I would be too sad if I wouldn’t get in. Cathy… I’m so happy for you to have such genuine members ( I hope at least!). I’d LOVE there to be Dream Teams for overseas countries too – one day, if my overseas publishers are up for it! Amy, there will be more places coming up over the next couple of years, so don’t worry… Alice & Julianne, great to hear from you, I know you will be fab Dream Teamers! yayyyyyyy! Cathy I was really disappointed because I didn’t know that you would be selling your new book in Edinburgh, but because the hotel which my dad stays in( He works there on a regular basis)is in charlotte square one of his workmates was able to get the book!!!!!!!
