You don’t need to have the exact same hair colour or eye colour – those things can be disguised and styled, we are looking for the right ‘look’ and lots of personality! Sadly you DO need to be in the UK as readers in NZ or USA are unlikely to be able to pop over to London for the cover shoot. Sorry! xxx

Hey there :] Both comps sound cool but just not for me right now. I entered the MBFR comp last year & didn’t place but I had fun making it. I just didn’t have time this year to take part and I wouldn’t know which friend to choose… I would LOVE to be Covergirl but Skye isn’t really the girl I look like. I think Skye should be young, fun, smiley with cool beach chick wavy blond hair and have blue dancing eyes – I don’t look like that! Maybe another character at another time… Anyway I still think your amazing Cathy! Thanks xx P.s any writing competitions soon?

Hannah, as I have said already, don’t let brown hair stop you from entering! There are usually six finalist pairs of friends for MBFR , Concetta, and Megan & Concetta, it depends how well this comp goes as to whether we do it for future books, but I would love to! xxx

I have braces, you see and they’re bright blue and I know you don’t mention her having braces in Cherry Crush, so I assume she hasn’t braces in Marshmallow Skye either. Ellen, the results should hopefully be announced next week. They were due to be announced in July, not June, so sorry for any misunderstanding! As you can imagine it was a very tough comp to judge. Zoe, everyone was ‘good enough’ to enter the Cover Girl comp – we were looking for a real reader, and someone who captured a little of Skye’s personality. Your friend will have as much of a chance as anyone. Can’t wait to begin the judging! xxx

I would love to be a cover girl but unfortunately i live far away in Australia. Perhaps in the future you could write a book about an Australian girl and get an aussie for the front cover. Perhaps she could have Greek ancestors like me
