I only got it this morning and i have already read up to chapter 14. It is a great book and any one who likes Dizzy will love this book.
Ceri, age 10
Dizzy was my favourite book from Cathy Cassidy, it was romatic, exciting with different twisted in the story so you wouldn´t know how it would end. And that is how all books should be. When Lucky Star came out it was the ending to Dizzy but it wasn´t focousing on Dizzy it was on Mouse a boy who was 7 in Dizzy and now 14 in Lucky star. And he met a girl called Cat and then magic happend. Everyone on the Eden Estate were afraid of the Scully and drug dealers and when the Phoenix was burnt people started to fight back but in a quite way, Mouses mum put flowers in the ashes and Mouse with Cat beside him did some graphitti hits and it got everyone thinking and fighting back. When Cat had another idea by letting people know where the drug dealers lived, by graphitti hitting their flats doors the police came. And then they relized the police did care about the drug dealers. At the station when Cats parents come Mouse relized she had lied to him all the time about things that were very im
portant for Mouse to know. And like I have all ready said it didn´t turn out the way you would think.
But it still is a happly ever after!
Millie, age 9

Lucky Star is a brill book, its totally real too life and it captivates you. I really felt for Mouse & Cat and of course Lucky! Its just a great way to tell what peoples lives are like and how sometimes friendship and love can make the unthinkable happen – can make dreams come true, and that it helps to stand up and be noticed. I love Lucky Star because its all about friendship, love and standing up and being counted. All very important things in life. A MUST READ!

All the Cathy Cassidy books are amazing!!! I feel as if I am the characters, sharing their hopes and dreams! Sundae Girl made me feel soo sad when Gran died. Dizzy was a fab book, I’m not really a adventure girl but Dizzy was great. Indigo Blue was sad but a happy ending. I thought Indie was very very kind to forgive Jo. Driftwood was magic-I’m glad the bullying was stopped, the cats were my fave, I’m a cat lover but my dad hates them! Scarlett was a really good story, the ending was such a cliffhanger, I think Kian’s back. Your new book Lucky Star was fab, I’m glad Mouse has a happy ending! What’s your next book called and when is it out?

Leanne, age 14
At the end of Dizzy when Mouse’s long run of trouble is over and he’s been whisked away by social services, I was really, really on edge to know what happened next. Now,after years of waiting, I know.
Lucky Star is the sequel to Mouse’s antics of trouble in Dizzy. In this book he’s older, but he’s still got the same mousy hair, the same social worker-and into similar amounts of trouble. He’s just had the bright idea of grafitting all over his school gym-and the teachers are not pleased. You can read that he’s in trouble from the very first page-and this really gripped me. Still, what did I expect of Mouse-he’d never be exactly Mr Sweetness And Light school-wise.
But as he’s on his random roamings of the street, he finds a streetwise, pretty posh girl-who, interestingly, is called Cat-and by a stroke of--you guessed it-luck, the two become friends. But can it always stay that way in a game of cat and mouse…? Well, read the book and find out!
This book was cool. I loved from start to finish, and the words and style kept me gripped to the words printed on every page. Mouse is the first boy character Cathy Cassidy’s ever written from narrative, and that’s cool. What’s also cool is that you get to find out loads of stuff you didn’t already know about Mouse-like the fact that he’s dyslexic, and needs special literacy help at school. And that he’s recovered from his BMX accident in Dizzy. -but still very cool and exiting!
Or, best of all, that he’s got back together with his ex drug-addict mum, and the story gets soppy
I think this book was ace. I think anyone-social workers, kids, teens or teachers-should read this book. It really into the troubled mind of someone who needs everyone’s help-but mostly theirs. Plus it’s not just social services you’ll find Mouse involved with- I reckon his character exists a bit in all of us in some way. That’s why we’ve all got to help each other out and be brave and know that we’re not alone. And a good place to start would be by reading this book.
Charli, age 14
Hi Cathy, I’ve just read the extract of your latest book. Your writing seems so natural and effortless but at the same time like every word is equally important. The ability to lose yourself in time, be in control – it’s a beautiful feeling. I’ve only read one page but still, I bow done to you. I want that book!
Best wishes.

I love this book. I loved it that much that I read it in a whole day. I love the way used narrative hooks to draw the reader in to reading more, thats how I finished mine in a whole day. I loved the twist at the end where Mouse found out that cat was only 11 (i think it was 11). I also loved the romantic tension between them both. Well done on such a BRILLIANT book. Will there be another book that carrys on the ending of Lucky Star if so, i think I would be a hit for all the people who have read Lucky Start.
Amber-rose, age 13
Lucky Star was a great book, i read it in a day and a half! it had an interesting plot about these people in the present but there were also glimmers form the past, old friends, family and new news. it was a bit sad around the middle but it was great when everything worked out! I’d denfinitley recommend it 100%!
Melissa, age 11

It is the greatest book ever, when the police car comes my heart is crying and sad like Mouse. And when he finds out about Cat being 12 and all the lies I feel furious with him.It is the greatest book ever ,but I would have liked to hear more about Dizzy and Finn!
Sarah, age 13

of how different things are for me and how hard it is for some people. I truly loved reading the book it was awesome!!
Cliona, age 13
This is the best book that she has written to date. It is really good the way that Dizzy and Finn come back because it is like a family reunion as in Dizzy they were like a family all by themselves. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes Jacqueline Wilson as these books are even better and more realistic.
Maddy, age 12
Absolutely BRILLIANT!!
One of the best books I’ve ever read… EVER! I could really relate to mouse as i know all of the bands/clothes/hairstyles that were mentioned in the book.

I liked the idea of having Finn and Dizzy come into the story.I felt sorry for Mouse when Cat left him but I felt happy at the end when everything worked out for Mouse

Lucky Star is amazing. It is a wonderful book with character and sadness. The description in the book is amazing. I would reccomend this book to girls 9-12 but I think someone 40 would enjoy a good read out of it. i found my grandma reading it a couple of days ago. So it would suit anyone. Cathy Cassidy writes this book with excitment and it justs makes you want to read on and on.
Ani, age 12
I’ve read all of your books, and up until now, my fave was definately Dizzy, and the same as loads of others (i bet!) I really hoped you’d write a sequel. Although Lucky Star isnt exactly a sequel, its really really good to see Mouse’s mysterious story unfold further. I really enjoyed reading it; I read it in 2 days, it was that good! At the end, when all of the lies came out,I was really shocked and I felt sorry for Mouse. Lucky star is really good, and if anybody hasnt ordered a copy or hasnt read it yet, READ IT!!!!

it was the first book of yours i ever got and i loved it so much i read all of the rest. i got that book so i had something to read on holiday i read it in 2 days.
Mahalia, age 9
Lucky Star is an absolutely brilliant book! I think Cat is very troublsome but she is also very caring. Two of my favourite parts are when Cat and Mouse go on a day trip to London, and when Mouse finds Lucky. The end is very magical and I think it’s great that Mouses mum, Mrs. S, Luke, Julie, Jake and the rest all stand up to Frank Scully. I think Lucky is one of the best characters ever (not forgetting that Cat, Mouse and everyone else are great too!). I have also read Driftwood, Scarlet, Sundae Girl, Dizzy and would like to read Indigo Blue too!
Somerset, age 9
This book is so great i loved it so much that i read it in the bathroom as well as in bed i am on the last chapter i have read all of Cathy Cassidy’s books at least once they were all great!!!
Emma, age 10
This book was so good!!!! It has an ending you would’ve never expected!!!! I think you should write a secuel. It was really sad but also showed that things can really changed if you just try and stick up for yourself. Its a great book, just like all of them!
Ellie, age 13
Oh my god! When I saw the advert for this book I was like, OMG! ANOTHER CATHY CASSIDY BOOK! I was half way to the bus stop to go to school but I HAD to see if Lucky Star was in the library – I ended up doing this weird dance hop thing between the library and the bus. Then I thought “Ha, I’ll just go to the library” And I ran in and shrieked at the poor librarian asking if Lucky Star was in… It was! I read it in two hours straight and loved every bit of it. I think I’d have a crush on Mouse if he was real – He is real to me!
Loved it!
Sarah, age 12
Lucky Star is about Mouse, a 14 year-old who lives on the rough Eden estate, in a pokey little flat. Just when he thinks that life is going down the drain, he finds Lucky, a scruffy little dog who grows to be his best friend. Then he falls for Cat, a cute girl from the posh side of town. When the Eden estate turns for the worst, it’s up to Mouse, Cat and Lucky to save not so Eden from peril.
This is one of the best books I have ever read, it’s out-on-the edge, adventurous, and romantic , just what you need when your looking for a good book to snuggle up with! There is tears, sadness, excitment and joy. There are first times and, in some cases, last times. I think Lucky Star is the best book in the world, and it’s suitable for any one with the power to dream…...
Sarah Collerxxx

Literally couldn’t put it down. Didn’t put it down. This book is sooo moving. As soon as I finished the last page, I just wanted to read it again, experience it again. Two or three hours in Mouse’s world, to me, was definitely worth more than two or three hundred YEARS in the company of Harry Potter or Tracy Beaker. Cathy Cassidy rocks!
Jill, age 12

i think the book was great, also i think it was cool to bring dizzyback in the book and how she talks about how her life’s been going.i think it was sad because mouse had to face so much but he pulled through and his life became better in the end.i think i love the way you endings are because there not predictable.

i loved this book ,as i do all of your books. It was touching, on something that could acctually happen to all of us. this book was shocking , suspence filled and a great read. After reading all your books this is probably one of my faves!.
i love the way you write such realistic books that can make girls realise that though their lives arent perfect , other people are suffering it just as tough and how to pull through.

I thought this book was fantastic, the way it linked into Dizzy was really clever!
I liked the way that you didnt NEED to read Dizzy to understand this book, it explains his past really well, and the secrets really make you want to know what happens!
This book is a feel good book.
It did make me want to cry at some place [[Dont tell anyone!]] But, so happy the next!
I Give This Book 10++
:D

This is the best book that I have ever read! I like the way that you have chosen a character who doesn’t live in a very nice place. Some people have to live to in that condition and may be just like mouse, so they can feel like they are a important part of the book. Also people who live in nice places can have the experience of feeling what it is like to be a person like mouse.
Lucky star was a book that I read over and over again but I had to stop reading it because I accidently dropped in a puddle ( it’s a bit wet, hehehe.)
Mouse and Cat come from completely different worlds but somehow manage to be really good friends( well, a bit more than just friends.)They meet when Cat nearly flattens a cute, little, chip stealing dog called lucky.
But the dog belongs to scully ( a drug dealer.) how will Mouse and Cat get out of this one? Will Lucky stay with Mouse? Will mouse still stay with cat?

Nobody actually deserves a book. People just read it to enjoy and pass time. But if I had the whole collection of Cathy Cassidy books, I would even sell it to raise money for the poor/disabled/abused children. But, of course, after I had read it over and over to keep the fantastic words in my head. But here not many bookstores sell these books, so I consider them rare and really fabulous. If I don’t get this book (which wouldn’t matter), I would have to wait another 5 or 6 months before I can actually buy it. And I’m sure nobody would or could wait that long.

I think Lucky Star is your best ever book…I can’t count how many times I’ve read it. I love the fact that its written form a boys point of view and it still appeals to girls because its really interesting and unusual. Mouse and Cat are the coolest characters ever! Some bits make you want to laugh, some make you cry…i loved it

this book is great everyone should have a try at reading it.
Jay, age 11
I thought the book was the best one yet.
I is you’re best book and it was a great story.
I wonder if peoples lives are really like that.
It had great description and was really exciting.
I just finished it today and i read the last 100 pages it was to good to put down.
Before I read you’re book I read Kiss by Jacileen Wilson, yours was so much better.
I think your evan better than JK Rolling and stupid Harry Potter.
I like your stories because there like real life and not a fairy tale.
You have really got me ready for facing people in a adult word when i get there.
Not evrything in the future is like a FAIRY TALE and your stories show people like me that.
Keep Writing The Great Stories
Lots OF Love
