I have read ‘Scarlett’ already, but it’s so good, that I’m reading it again! It’s so gripping and moving to read about Scarlett’s life and how family
break-ups can affect people. My favourite character’s were Scarlett, Kian and Holly.
I really like all of Cathy Cassidy’s books and I would give ‘Scarlett’ 10 out of 10 and five stars out of five!!!

Aimee, age 10

Scarlett is the first book of yours that I have readand it is FABULOUS!! It is one of the best books I have read and I will buy and read more of
your AMAZING books!! Scarlett is great and keep writing!!

Meghann, age 11

I think Scarlett is a very interesting book character. I would recommend
it to young and to older children. Scarlett gets in to a lots of trouble and get’s suspended THREE times. She is sent of to her nans, uncles and now dads, in Ireland. Do you think it is going to be good? She meets a new stepsister called Holly, and the school – well I can’t believe she walks
out on the first day!!! As she runs away to try and get home to England, she meets a boy called Kian who tries to help her… You will have to
read on to find out what happens. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did!

K8, age 10

u should defineitely HAVE 2 read scarllett it ROCKS!! it about a girl called scarrlet (note the title!!) who is always in trouble at school and forever out side the headmistresses office 4 inappropriate behaveour or being pack off to some distant uncle or auntie. now she has gone too far and her mum has had enough. (surprise surprise!!) now it’s time 4 scarllett 2 ventoure out into the world. it’s time to meet AND stay with… dad. now u can obviously guess, scalletts dad is’nt likely to approve of her tomato ketchup coloured hair, attitude problem and not-so-perfect school record. but u will find later in the book that maybe stayin at dad’s with his new family (pregnant wife and not-so-angelic little 6(?) year old) may not be as boring 4 scarlett as she thought. i think i’ve told you enough already.

Lydia, age 11

I’m a big Cathy Cassidy fan. All her books are so absorbing, I never want to stop reading. Out of the books I’ve read by Cathy, I think Scarlett is the best. I think that one of the reasons I like Scarlett is the situations she is in. I think that having to go into her new family is very exciting and her life is like a roller-coaster. Scarlett is a very strange and a disruptive child at the beginning of the book, but throughout the story, she becomes a loving, generous girl.
Overrall, Scarlett is a brilliant book, and I recomend it to everyone.
(Thank you Cathy Cassidy for inspiring me to maybe on day become an author!)

Arianne

I’ve just read your book “Scarlet”. Very fun and i finished it in less than a day (I’m a fairly slow reader in comparisson to some, soo….).
Once I finished the book I had an erge to let you know…
IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At the sad parts I seriously cried (not bawling luckily or someone would think something was up!), at the angry parts I felt tense and ready to lash out, at the romance parts I felt so my anticipation and at the pause of the book (when i went outside) I was sure Kian and Midnight would leap out of nowhere and the dream would begin!!! I felt like I was Scarlet was real and as if I was in her shoes. You just blew me away!!!!!!!!! My mind was in a fairy tale and you (which only a few authors can do) made me sense all of the emotions for this caracter! You are very gifted and I LOVED every thing about this magical book!

Sacha, age 11

I got scarlett when i went on holiday, and instead of messing around in da pool i sat down on the sand and read scarlet the whole way through. there’s 2 days of sun i will never get back, but it was totaly worth it, your such an amazing author.i would love it if you made a scarlet 2.

Alessia, age 12

Scarlett was a great book. I’ve just read it and it is brilllll! If you are adventurous, mysterious and magical then this book is definately for you. Scarlett is a girl who has been expelled from school many times and has been sent away to live with her dad. She meets a boy called Kian and she falls in love with him, then something happens when she arrives home in London one day, she finds something from him, she can smell him, she thinks someone is behind her, she turns but no ones there…

Sarah, age 11

My favorite part is when she is alone with Clare and clare goes into labour! Its a fantastic book and I reccomend it to anyone who can find it!

Lorna, age 13

I thought Scarlett was brilliant because it speaks about how a lot of girls are now, and talks about how you can enjoy life and live it to the fullest, and it’s really happy and jolly in the end. I went to bed the night of reading it and there were no bad thoughts in my mind. I would definately recomend it to my friends and anyone, along with all the other books! :D

Emily Rose C, age 12

the start of the book in my opinion was the best bit because it pulls the reader into the story by using a catchy opening scene where you as a reader can undersatnd the situation and sympathise with Scarlett. The use of cliff hangers at the end of the first chapter and the end of the book were exciting and made me want to read on, and to find out what happens to scarlett after the book finishes.i found the story enjoyable and liked the romantic parts involving her and kian. i like this book very much plases write a sequle.

This book was my No.1 favourite when I got it! Scarlett was what I wanted to be at the time… some sort of rebel, who stood out. I wouldn’t mind the smudgy eyes, or the clothes though! Sadly, my copy of the book has vanished, but I’ve read it so many times, I know it off by heart! (Liked the fact it had Ireland in it- planning to includ it again?)

Molly, age 10

I think Scarlett has had so many obstacles to face in her life, that all her feelings and emotions are clogged up inside her they come out as anger and aggression. She’s a nice person inside and you start to see that side of her when she moves to Ireland.
This is a fantastic, magical book that I would reccomend to anyone who likes a good read.

Dana, age 11

Scarlett was absolutely amazing!! It taught me a lot about myself too. I am sometimes really difficult and usually took it for granted that my mum would pull me out of trouble every time I got into it. Then I read Scarlett and it taught me a lot about myself! Laura, age 13

I love all of your books, especially Scarlett and you have become a real inspiration to me; I have daydreams like you do, and i dont fulfill them very often, but your books have really inspired me to just let it all out.
I think that the magic of your books, and Scarlett in particular is that:

A) It becomes impossible to put them down, and

B) when it is coming towards the ending, i begin to acknowledge the ending, but then you put a twist in, that completely takes my mind off the scent to drag me in even more. I love your books and I wish you success with them. X

I thought the book scarlett was absoulutley brilliant I liked the bit when she went to pierce her step sisters nose;it made me laugh and it was 9:30 at night so my mum came up and asked what was so funny.

Megan, age 10

Scarlett was a patchwork quilt of beautiful settings, intruging characters, and lovely morals. It only took me two nights to read it, it pulled me in like a fish on a hook. All I can say is praise for Cathy Cassidy, and her wonderful way of writing.

One of my favourites and the first book I read by Cathy Cassidy. I really feel like I’m an invisible person, watching as Scarlett is sent away from England, then when she grows out of her anger and then when she is blackmailed by her stepsister I really felt like crying when her dad didn’t believe her story of the incident. Whenever I find this in a library, I cling onto it! My dream come true would definitely be a film of “Scarlett” or a sequel to it!

I read this book non stop. I just couldn’t put it down. It is my favourite book. Basically its about a girl called Scarlet and she is rally naughty at school so she gets sent to live with her dad, his girlfriend and her daughter and Scarlet goes to school there but she leaves and gets home tutored and she meets a boy called Kian and he has a horse but Kian has run away from home. So, he doesn’t tell Scarlet until she finds out. Scarlet goes back to her mum and Kian goes home. But i think Kian and Scarlet love eachother. Sylvia, age 11

Scatlett is a book about a girl that gets in trouble and the parents decedied that since she has to learn a lesson for getting in trouble also known as a punishment they are going to send her to her dads. At first she hates they way her little sister and dad gets along but during the journy you will also find that Scarlett makes a new friend and becomes closer to her family then ever before.

Lauren, age 12

Scarlett is a 12 year old girl that lives with her mum but she is not any loving daughter! She has been to so many schools and has a great temper! After her mum gave Scarlett her last chance, she sends Scarlett off to her Dad, which she hates ever since he left them for another women. Having world war 3 break out will Scarlett ever forgive her Mum and make friends with her dad’s new family?

Isabella, age 13

I loved this book! It has a bit of everything, humor, romance and even sadness! I read Scarlett really fast because I could’nt put it down. I was addicted to it. When I had finished reading it I wanted to read it again and again. So thats what I did. I think almost every girl would enjoy Scarlett. I tested it on my friends and they ALL said it was their new favourite book.

Emily, age 12

I have read all the books and scarlett was the best! liked scarlett because it was different to other books. it had a good story line and good charecters. I also liked the part when scarletts mum came and looked after her. I’d love it if there was another book about her!

Izzy, age 12

Scarlett is a fantastic book about a girl who’s Mum and Dad splits up. Scarlett moves around a lot and is branded as a trouble-maker. As her last chance crashes, her mum is left wit no other option. She will have to go to Ireland to stay with her dad…

Lucy, age 9

About a week ago I went to my school libary to get a book.
I was looking in the kids section and then I saw a book by my favourite author Cathy Cassidy. It was the book Scarlett. I read the blurb and it sounded really interesting. So I borrwed that book from the libary. I started reading it as soon as I got home from school. When I finished it I new that it was the best book Cathy Cassidy ever written.

Laura, age 14

hi im laura and im reviewing the book scarlett because it`s such a fab book. The best thing i love about scarlett is were it is set, it`s set in ireland. The mane character in the book is scarlett, of course! she is cool and funky, and has got a really good attitude. In the book she has been to loads of schools and each and every one of them she has been excluded from. Her mum has has enough and sends her to go and live with her dad who she has`nt seen for ages. She refuses to go, but loses the battle with her mum and has to go. When she gets there her dad has aleady set up a new family; with a little girl his with and the tiny one on the way.Though out the book she meets a `not so familiar` boy who has a horse called midnight. This only the base lines of the story the story is so so so so much better!! This is my review and i hope you enjoyed it.

Suzanna, age 12

I love Scarlett. It made me cry so much. When she phoned her mum, her mum was so mean.I really felt sorry for her, because no one really loved her.I think Cathy Cassidy’s books are really good because she writes about issue’s people have expierienced and the books are real life.I’ve got Scarlett on my ipod and listen to it again and again.I’ve probably read it a million times. This book is brilliant because its fuunny and you can relate to it!

Megan, age 11

I thought this book was an excellent book because one of my close friends went through a hard time when her parents split up. Her grandma brought us this book for christmas and we read it together. It was very well discripted and you felt like you were there next to the lake with her.The mysic and mysteriousness of the rider really added something to this book.I would give this book an 8/10 because it kept you hanging on the end of a cliff by one finger nail.I think that when you start to read this book you read the fabulously informative introduction, followed by a just as good middle. You read on late into the night because you are dead curious to find out how it ends.THis was a totally smashing book and i recomend it to every girl in the world.

Saeedah, age 12

Oh my god! This book i simply couldn’t put down, i love the way it’s twisted into a fairy-tale.I love the characters, i love the story-line, i love cathy cassidy!!

Kathryn, age 11

i absoloutly love scarlett because alot of people have divorced parents and so they can relate too how scarlett feels.

Abbey, age 10

my fave book is scarlett because it reminds me of someone in my class also the book is realy exiting because you feel you have to read on. my fave character was scarlett because she has her own personality style and shes not botherd about getting in to trouble.my fave part of the book is when she has to move to her dads because she starts to behave more exitingly and she also behaves worse than she did at home with her mum .when she gets to her dads is also great because she tries to skip school her friend tried to get her on the bus but scarlett tells lies and gets out of school by missing the bus.

Charleigh, age 10

i think that scarlett is a really good bookj because it is just like me but at home not at school i also think it is a chance for people who are really good and who don’t know what the word naughty means because scarlett is very naughty i am at home sometimes because my sisters rebecca + shanice are older than me i am the youngest

Erin, age 11

i absolutly loved this book it fells like youre been whisk of to an imaginary world world cathy really hit it this time she really pulled me into this.I highly recommand this book to people who belive in magic.

This is a really cool book! It has a lot of lessons that can be taught and you won’t be able to put the book down!

Natasha, age 15

This book is fantasic it has all the things which make a great book in one. It has a troubled teenager, an annoying little sister but things are turned around. The teenager becomes a big sister who the little sister admires and learns to love her new familly and the setting. There’s romance. A strange boy Kian (what a fantasic name) finds Scarlett and him and his horse looks after Scarlett. Theres tears and tantrums and smiles and joy.

Ashleigh, age 13

This book is awesome it’s full of everything that a good book needs. Cathy Cassidy’s bokks are totally one of my favorite books!! :)
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Blythe, age 12

This book is so fantastic that I can’t put it down in words .I have read this book 4 times and never get bored it was so dascriptive I cried at parts and allways do even though I know its coming .

This is the best book I have ever read and i have all of Cathy Cassidys books .But this one is my absolut favourite .

Charlotte, age 13

I have read all of Cathy Cassidys books but Scarlett was the best by far. I love it because its the story of a rebel who doesnt want anything to do with anybody until her life changes and she meets the strangest boy. Most books seem to be about a good persons life so I like the fact that Cathy Cassidy decided to be different and original. Usually the reader doesnt like the “bad” person but somehow Cathy makes Scarlett likeable by writing cleverly. The story also shows that we should aprieciate what our family do for us. Another thing it proves is that with good friends and an understanding family you can be the happiest person alive!!!!!!

Aoife, age 9

i’ve read this book at least 10 times and it never gets old! a sequel would be cool its a great book :)

Megan, age 12

I really loved Scarlett. I liked how she was daring. I would be WAY too scared to dye my hair red or pierce my tongue. My favourite part was when the baby was born and scarletts mum became friends with her dads new wife. My favourite character is Scarlett. I don’t know how scarlett wasn’t too scared to paint her nails in school-BLACK! I am saving up for Lucky Star now but I hope to get it for Christmas!!!!

Nicola, age 12

scarlett is a fantastic book in my opinion.i liked all the characters and i liked the storline. i read this book at school as part of a homework excercise and i would always read on because i liked it so much. i have asked for this book for christmas but it would be much better if i could have it signed by my story book hero. i love reading your books and i recommend them to anyone who likes a book that they can never put down. cathy you are sucha brill writer and when i met you at my primary school(linlithgow primary ) i felt extreamly happy. keep on writing fantastic books and have a good christmas and new year !!(you deserve it)

‘Scarlett’ is a moving, heartwarming tale about a troubled, rebellious, out-of-control 12 year-old girl named Scartlett who just wants to lead a peaceful, hassle-free life. I reccommend this gorgeous book to absoloutly anybody – it rocks!! I just love the way Cathy writes her books; the main characters are always our own age & experience the same things we do in our everyday life.

Scarlett is an absolutely magnificent book. You know, I had finished this book last night, and I thought to myself, this is the best book in the WORLD!!! Scarlet is like one of the best books I’ve ever read!!!!!!!!!!! Cathy Cassidy, I don’t alot but ever since that day inmy school library (when I first issued Scarlet) I have never stopped reading! I don’t read just any books, it takes a lot to get me to read. Cathy, I just want to thank you for everything that you have ever written, ever since I discovered Scarlet, I been a straight A+ student in English, and I’ve also got a scolarship to one of the best schools in Botswana (located in Southern Africa). I just want to thank you for all you’ve done for me!

I thought that Scarlett is a really good book. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down.My favourite character was scarlett because she was such a exiting and mischevious girl.

Madeleine, age 10

i love scarlett because scarlett is so much like a rebel a trouble maker a popular girl and she is so brave to be diffrent from others i would be scared to be diffrent from the new fashion of clothes and just to some way be different from others.its just the best story from all the adventure and the secrets.

Zara, age 10

I think that the book Scarlet is a BRILLANT book. It is about a girl called Scarlet who is not the best behaved girl in school this is why she gets expelled and her mum is NOT happy. then she is sent off to live with her dad and his new wife, because her mum is so disappointed with her bad behaviour and has had enough. At first Scarlet feels that she is going to die of boredom, bit then she meets a mysterious local boy called Kian, will he change things???

Rebekah, age 11

Scarlett is one of Cathys best books i have read yet!!
Its about a girl called Scarlett and she always gets into some sort of TROUBLE!!!
Scarlett is sent off to stay with her dad and she has to behave because if she doesnt behave she will get a sore bottom!!!Then she meets Kian everyone knows she likes him!!!He helps her get out of this trouble!
Trust me i didnt think that boys could help other people!!!Just read the book its the BEST!!!
