Wow!TGingersnaps is a heart beating,funny,mysterious book with romance,drama and friendship filled into it!I loved this book and be sure to ask for Sam Taylors number!Its about a girl called Ginger who is a bit of an outsider but as she gets to comp she drops that look and swaps her piggy bank for mini skirts and her chocolate for shoes.Now shes cool with great friends,well at least that is what she thinks but then when Sam Taylor comes in and melts her stone heart Shannon is not the same!The boys normally like her not Ginger.Then they start tearing apart and when Emily Croft is used a ‘makeover project’ by Shannon,Gingers life starts tearing at the seams but then as the girls head into english a really cool teacher called Mr Hunter comes in and Shannon falls for him!He just likes all of his pupils but when she invites him to her party and he doesn’t bother with her then she starts making allegations up.Sam Taylor and Gingersnaps stick together os at the end they go out and leave Shannon as a has been!

This has to be the best book yet. It isn’t possible that someone could be able to put down all that on paper, yet here she’s done it again! Sam is like a boy version of me (sounds weird, I know) with a narrowboat added on. I have great friends but I’m never anyone else with them than myself and I like being different. What sort of friend is someone if they don’t know who you really are?Gingersnaps is a great book for anyone who has ever felt like they don’t fit in, with a hint of romance thrown in.Fab* Loved it.

This is undoubtedly Cathy’s very best book, followed at a close second and third by Driftwood and Indigo Blue. Gingersnaps is an incredibly beautiful book. I was touched by it’s powerful message. The way she described the scene where Ginger ran into the woods (after she went down to apologize to Sam for being ashamed of him that day they went to town, only to discover their narrow boat gone) and caught a falling leaf and made a wish, and how the fox snuggled against her, was so beautiful. I can’t describe it, but Cathy made the scene seem as realistic as possible. I felt like I was almost WATCHING Ginger sitting there cry and then get back up on her two feet. That whole scene itself really stood out for me in the whole book, along with the two chapters going into Shannon’s wild party – I felt like I was THERE at the party itself! Sounds crazy, but it’s true. :3
Overall, this is a fantastic book I reccommend to pretty much anybody (yes, boys!). You will NOT be let down. This is one of the most amazing books I have ever read in my life.

just finished reading GingerSnaps yesterday! I get the whole thing about hiding behind a mask. Like in her first meeting with Sam Ginger has to hide behind a viel of hair (sort of) to get by, to make friends. A lot of people would say they wouldn’t but everyone at one point in their lives has had to hid behind a mask to make some friends, though most of the time if they’re really good friends the mask will eventually come off to reveal the inner beauty behind it. I love the way in the end Ginger realizes she doesn’t need Shannon but she’ll still have friends if she lets her go. No one in the world is worth forgetting your real self like Ginger did. And if a guy really liked you he’d like you even before you’ve straighten your hair or put on your make up. Like Sam and that Blue Lemonade morning on the boat. That’s why I like Ginger Snaps so much.

I finally persuaded my dad to buy this book for me, and it was not a disappointment. I read it in about half an hour- i couldn’t put it down. This book- like every other good book, is like cocolate. You so much want to savour it, make every word on every page last forever, but you can’t help reading it so quickly and then wishing there was more. I just love gingersnaps!I am Lucy, from Gourock and I bought the book yesterday in WHSmith for £9.99. Although it was dear, as my mum said!, it was worth the money. IM in the middle of the book at the moment, the way you describe the characters is very good. Especially the way you describe Sam taylor ( Gingers “crush” ) the book is very deep and on the 1st chapter where Ginger was talking about herfelf getting bullied realy touched my heart. I love all of your books. Indigo Blue is my favourite though. It has different twists and turns you don’t expect and it is really interesting. I have read Indigo Blue, Scarlet, Gingersnaps and I am half way through Dizzy. They are all excellent books and even just reading different blurbs makes me want to read them. My favourite character was obviously Ginger but I also really liked Sam. He was so mysterious but yet really cool. And he taught Ginger a valuable lesson too.
