Thanks to everyone who entered the Cool Character Comp… there were some amazing entries and the standard was higher than ever! It was SOOOO hard to choose the winners, and as usual I picked several in each category, as well as runners-up. And I listed several hundred readers as highly commended, those whose stories or poems stood out in some way… thanks, all of you, for entering. I’m sorry not everyone can be a winner – there were almost 1000 entries, so the competition was stiff! I hope you had fun entering, anyway!

WORLD BOOK WEEK....
I’m backhome after the Lucky Star paperback tour at last! It was fun – thanks to all the cool kids I met along the way! World Book Week is coming up, and I’ll be doing some events closer to home in Scotland to help celebrate…
On Monday 3rd March I’ll be going to a World Book Week Tea party at Notre Dame High School in Glasgow. Cool! On Tuesday 4th I’ll be in Edinburgh at the Scottish Storytelling Centre at 10.30am, and at 5pm the same day I’ll be in Morningside for a fab, FREE after-school event with FIDRA BOOKS – if you’re in the area, come along and bring a friend! On Thursday 6th I’ll be at Stewarton Academy, and finally, on Saturday 8th I’ll be running a FREE Writers Workshop at Castle Douglas Town Hall (Castle Douglas, Dumfries & Galloway) from 11-12pm. The Lucky Star paperback tour is off to a flying start! Hi to all the cool kids I met in Easons, Craigavon; St Mary’s High School, Newry; Borders, Dublin; The Mount School. Mill Hill and The Marist School, Ascot! The sun has been shining and everyone has been so enthusiastic and fab . . . I’m really looking forward to my next events. Check out my camper to see where I’ll be next!

FEBRUARY TOUR....
I’m off on tour now until 23rd Feb… phew!!! Hope you can come and see me somewhere along the way to get your books signed and help me to celebrate the launch of Lucky Star in paperback… and get your free mini book, Ice Cream & Dreams, with Feb 7th Mizz mag.
I’ll be doing public signings in Craigavon (N. Ireland), Dublin, Chorley, Bramhall (Stockport), Yeovil, Bornemouth & Guildford… check out the Cathy’s Camper page for more details and come along! My little sister Julia won in the story section yay! My favorite powm for sure was the one about the colours it just sounded amazing magical! Are you sure you can’t give your oh so faithful fans a teeny tiny sneak peak on your new book? Now that you told us I think I’m going to go CRAZY with anticipation!
