2008 MBFR FINALISTS ANNOUNCED....

Woo! The moment we’ve all been waiting for… The 100 finalists in the 2008 My Best Friend Rocks comp have just been announced in May 1st issue of Mizz mag. Letters have now been sent to the lucky 100, who will be joining me along with their best friends and mums, for the Ultimate Friendship Festival in London on July 6th.

If you are a winner… WELL DONE!!! I can’t wait to see you in July.

If you haven’t been lucky this time, don’t be sad – I loved ALL the amazing entries. There were many HUNDREDS of them and it was soooo tough to choose just 100 finalists, but with lots of help from MIZZ and CHILDLINE, we did our best. If you are not one of the finalists, remember that you are still a friend in a million, because you took the time and effort to create an imaginative, heartfelt entry for your BFF. And don’t forget that we’ll be running the comp again next spring, so you can get thinking and try again then!

Thanks to ALL of you who entered. MBFR is all about celebrating friendship, and anything that does that is COOL. Whether you entered or not, tell your BF how much she means to you… today!

FRIENDS FOREVER!!!!

Hey everyone! I’m back from my holiday in the Lakes and ready to get stuck into the new book. It’s a brand new project, and top secret for now – I’ll tell you more soon, I promise!

As well as writing, I have been busy this week judging MY BEST FRIEND ROCKS. There’ve been entries that made me laugh, entries that made me cry, entries so creative and cool I’d like to stick them on my pinboard for inspiration… Well done to all who entered. We’re still judging, but the 100 finalists will be announced in May 1st issue of MIZZ magazine, with letters to confirm this following soon after. I can’t wait to meet those finalists and their friends at THE ULTIMATE FRIENDSHIP FESTIVAL in London on July 6th…

Whether you entered or not, now is a perfect time to tell your friends just how special they are to you. My best friend Sheena has just gone to live overseas, and I’m missing her like crazy… but I know we won’t lose touch, because it’d take more than the Mediterannean Sea to come between us! If you’re reading this Sheena, I love ya… always.

HOLIDAY...

The Scottish school hols have just started (I know, I know, a bit late for easter!) and I’m off with my family for a week’s break in the Lake District… I’ll be taking my laptop with me and working on a new book while I’m away, promise!!!

Hope you’ve all sent in your entries for MBFR now… I can’t wait to start the judging. The entries I’ve seen so far look amazing!

MY BEST FRIEND ROCKS!!!

You have until April 1st to send your entries in for the MY BEST FRIEND ROCKS comp… this year the prizes are bigger and better than ever, so don’t miss out! I’ve teamed up with the cool ‘n’ fabby MIZZ magazine and CHILDLINE, the amazing children’s charity, to make this year’s comp truly spectacular…

Do you have a friend in a million? A friend who has helped you through some tough times, or been through some ups and downs herself? Maybe she’s been your friend since forever, or perhaps she’s a new mate and you want to show her how much you care… well, this is your chance! Click MY BEST FRIEND ROCKS and find out exactly how to enter.

You can be as creative as like – get to work designing an entry that will really catch my eye, then send it in to the address on the MBFR link. We’ve had some fab entries so far… check out a few of my faves on the MBFR link see the kind of thing other people are doing! The Easter hols are a perfect time to do this… all that chocolate can only be an inspiration!

If you are one of the 100 finalists, you’ll be invited to my ULTIMATE FRIENDSHIP FESTIVAL on the banks of the River Thames in London, with your best friend and a parent/guardian, for a day of fun, friendship, workshops, makeovers and lots, lots more… you’ll get to meet me, too! The overall winner and five runners-up will be announced at a special ceremony that afternoon. The winners will win everything they need to create the sleepover of their dreams… sigh!
