IRELAND... AND ITALY!!!!

Hiya!!!
I’m away from home for three weeks, first in Ireland, then Cheltenham and finally on hols in Italy! Yay! And don’t worry, I’ll be taking Angel Cake with me on the laptop!!! I’m looking forward to writing while sitting under a lemon tree in Sorrento… sigh!!!

I had LOTS of fun at the Queen of Teen ceremony recently – Louise Rennison was a v. deserving winner, but hey, I got a sash and tiara… to keep! Thanks to everyone who voted/nominated me and especially to Rhiannon for her winning nomination.

There’s still time to win a bunch of free signed books, so check out the Summer Stories blog for details… and if you’re planning to enter the ‘Journey’ themed writing comp, get your skates on, as it closes at the end of October… details are on the WRITERS WORKSHOP page in the YOU section.

Keep in touch – but be patient, ‘cos it may take me longer than usual to respond to emails while I’m away! I’ll catch up once I return. See you soon,
Cathy xxx

And if you already have all the books, then remember they’d also make excellent pressies for friends!!!

For more info on how to enter, check out the Back-To-School-Blues comp page... and if your entry is really cool, we might even use it online! I am busy writing my next book, Angel Cake, but also jetting about on various mini tours… I’m just back from beautiful Islay, so hi to all the fab kids I met there! Next I am off to Perth, Dundee, Fife, Aberdeenshire & Stirling, then Redbridge, Bath, Cheltenham & the FABBY Queen of Teen ceremony near London… wooo!!!! Last but not least, I’ll be in Ireland, touring around Tipperary & Cork.

Let me know if you’re going to make it along to any of these events… and don’t forget to pass on your best cheer-up tips, too! It may be raining outside, but we can make our own sunshine, can’t we?!!!

Hi Cathy! This rain is really horrible, can’t it just disappear please?? Anyway I think you should enjoy the rain instead of moping about it, so I’m going to go pick up my umberella and go singing in the rain to cheer myself up! Love Sarah x PS I think your new book sounds really cool :-)

THANK YOU!!!!

I had the coolest email this week, from a girl thanking me for the books, and for writing back to her when she emails… and it got me thinking. We don’t say thank you often enough! So let’s do something about it….

Here is Emma’s email, which started me thinking….

Thanks Cathy for writing to me the way you do. You’re an international writer who has loads of fans and yet you still take time to write back to each one of us personally. You answer our questions and help us out. I know no other author who does that so thanks!
And thanks, too, because your books are so inspirational. They help me understand and believe and want to stand up for myself! Thanks, Cathy!

So… who would I say thanks to? Lot of people, for lots of things!!!!

A big THANKS to my fab family, for putting up with me… to my friends… to all the fab crew at Puffin books & also to my agent, for making my dreams come true… to my writer-gal pals, Fiona Gibson, Lisa Clark, Magi Gibson & Meg Rosoff, for patience, laughs & understanding… to Fluffy Puffin, for everything… to Kitty’s Tearoom, for having the best cake in the known universe… to the cool kids who came to the EDINBURGH BOOK FEST recently, to see me…. to everyone who emails me with feedback & support… everyone who voted for me in Queen of Teen… to Daisy & Kelpie (dogs), Midnight & Snowy (rabbits) & Lily, Pickle & Pepper (cats) for letting me stroke them… to llamas, for existing… and lots, lots more. Including Emma N, for giving me the cool idea for this blog!

What would YOU say thanks for? Let me know in the box below… keep your comments short, & I’ll post the best online!
